What do you do with ppl who are full of it?

Guy was bragging at work yesterday that his 92 gsx1100 was put on a dyno and put out 408BHP on the rear wheel. He is saying the bike puts out so much horsepower that the rear tire does not stay on the hub and they are modifying it to run 2 chains.. putting 2 sprockets front and rear and 2 chains to give it more even power.??

huh?? 408 is a fairly large number wouldnt you think? If your going to lie a little you could go for 250 ish wouldn't ya?

GR got 499hp from his busa.. what's he on about? tell him to come back when he gets a real bike..

How can you run 2 sprockets anyway? Where would the clutch go? And having 2 sets wouldn't give it more power, it'd take off power, cos it'd be something else to move. And where would the rear brake go?

Just walk away, and tell him to give you a buzz when he does it. You'll never hear from him again

Guys who are full of it really piss me off at times. I had a mate who'd always be on about how cool his car would be once he saved up enough to buy it. Turbo, NOS, body kit, this, that, something else. Guess what - still hasn't got a car at all. Such a blowhard.

Let them rave, show interest if one is interested, we all have our ways of gaining acceptance and self worth. This may be his way.

Yeah, but GR (not quite sure what GR is) but anyway, GR is not a truck driver in Palmerston North... It makes all the difference...

The 2 sprocket idea is surposed to be next to each other, rather than on either side of the rear wheel.. He even went so far to say "when its finished my bike will be in the GP class" I am not sure what that means ...

What cracks me up are the learner riders that boast that they can get 260km/h out of their RGV-250's

I just reply with..."wow, that's incredible, makes my ZX-10 look slow doesn't it...."

He sounds like he's the type of person that drives an old crapped out 80's nanna car and thinks he can chase and keep up with a race bike on the road. Theres a few of those ppl around with the same type of delusion.

Say to him 'huh, only 408hp? You'll want to get that sorted and find out where the other 200hp have gone. Fuck I'd be pissed at your engine builder mate.'

No seriously ask him what mod's he's done. Verify it yourself and then if you still believe he's full of shit tell him. No point beating around the bush if he is an idiot. Maybe beating around the head instead.

Even technically he's full of shit. Putting 2 chains on it doesn't mean it'll transfer the power (which I'm certain it doesn't have) to the rear wheel because chains stretch. And you can never tell where they'll stretch. So, for all intents and purposes it'll have 1 chain trying to transfer the power to the wheel while the other is slapping around cos it's stretched.

Conclusion: This guy is so full of shit he should be scared of enema's.

Just wind him up a little and say you have a 600hp bike. See how he ups his claim how his bike is better.

Just ask to see his bike, he's lieing so hard he probably doesn't even have one.

Perhaps it makes 40.8 Newton Metres..

The bike itself does exist. I have seen it but it was a month or so back and it only had 1 chain on it then. It is in the shop at the moment getting the second chain and sprockets on it. - he says.

I have invited him on a ride a few times but declined. Always got something better or different on at the time.

Don't make me go looking up a physics book to see what the hell a newton metre is too. Requires too much brain power for a sunday night.
