What an arse, seems like this is becoming a common occurance. Hope you give the boss a good rark up
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Zapf - forget writing letters and emails, go into the police, and file a complaint, then go to the guys work, and file a complaint with his boss.

I agree with Monsterbishi, if you've got the time go in and see the guys boss, if you dont get what you want start yelling a bit and waving your helmet about and they'll get the idea

Good to hear you saw it comming and are ok
