That's different, they didn't have to change 'em, but it would have made for extra brownie points.

I wasn't annoyed with them because they said no, I was annoyed with them putting down other motorcycle dealers when they couldn't even help me themselves. Thats not good business.
I think your being rather closed minded about the whole thing here. Getting upset about those who disagree with what your saying aint going to help what so ever. Did you expect simpathy starting this post or did you expact a big flame war directed at whoever you have a beef with? Its fine bringing something into the country, but expecting someone else to swap the gloves is, IMO rather unrealistic. I think WT put it nicely in his post, if anyone here needs "a chill pill", its you fishboy.

    Paying customer???
You went behind their back and ordered in stock which you could have just bought there.
Thats the risk you take when importing yourself.

Fishlayer: Nothing wrong with differing oppinions, that's why we're all here. Your first 3 or 4 posts all say you're pissed off at them for not helping you out as a high paying customer. So that's how I read the argument, sorry for the confusion.

I'll aggree that bagging a competitor is not ethical business sense although I thought it was common knowledge that the service on the shore sucks? I used to tell my customers that Sparky Bills at Motomart rode like a pussy. Nothing malicious there, just cold hard truths.

I really can't believe the audacity to actually ask the question once, let alone three times. That's the sort of thing I expect my three year old to do when she's been told she can't have something, go and ask another parent.

Anyway, all's well that ends well. I've got unnaturally long fingers. How much you want for them gloves?

Hey WT, I didn't ask the guys there 3 times I asked one guy there who said no and it was another guy the next day.

Anyway its all sorted now and I actually got it sorted when I stopped in at Mt Eden Motorcycles, they swapped them then and there and then gave me the 05 ZX10 demo to take for a thrash which was awesome. So all in all everything worked out but I was just a bit annoyed that the guys in the store put down other stores when they weren't even considering helping me either.

you wernt mad that they put down another shop, you were mad that they didnt do what you wanted, end of story...

if they changed your gloves without question, would you of really cared what they said?
Well what would you do? Run through the streets stark naked at 350 miles per hour with bells on your toes?

Pull ya horns in flash....how do you know what he was mad about.
If a shop wont go out of their way for me I simply dont go back there. There are lots of bikeshops that will do what you ask of them without putting other shops service down.

Yeah of course we do, some bikeshops just treat you like shit, so I dont bother going back if I dont like the service. Sounds like Fishslayer didn't like the service he got and merely expressed his opinion. Talk about loyalty to a bikeshop...they should be loyal to their paying customers and go out of their way to help you....not say no and then put down other businesses.

yea... I for one remember the treatments I get and will decide who to buy from in the future from that...

there is nothing wrong with a business helping someone out if they are breaking even in the process, as they'll gain good will and customer loyalty and will make money in future business. And at an advanced stage... the customer might still buy from them even if they are clearly the more expensive ones as the customer knows they'll get service and support that they'll never get from any where else.

where as from the very start... all they care about is extracting the max amount of $ from the customer, people feel that... and they'll gain no loyalty and there is not reason for the customer to stick to the same shop... althou they have bought from them in the past.

I know this as I own a very service intensive business... and my business grows organiclly from word of mouth from good references and referals and I am busier than ever...
