quasimoto leathers, gloves and back protector

on December the 18th (KB track day) i finally got around to buy some great leathers for a damn good price...

firstly the leathers....
This was my first time buying leathers so i didn't really know what i wanted, Bret was a big help though finding the best fitting jacket, gloves and pants (good bloke).
The leather jacket was a treat, i fell in love with it the instant i put it on, it was tight (relatively) but i still had full movement in the arms and it didn't feel restrictive, there was so much Armour (in the pants too) i thought i was invincible, he even let me jump on his mates bike to see if it was comfortable while in the riding position (which it was).
seem i was trying everything at the track day, Bret (quasi) only had limited stock, this was fine for everything but the pants, i tried on some 34's and they were too long so Bret offered to send me some 32's free of charge (posting wise) when he got home...more on this later.

The gloves...
Once again they looked great and felt like some effort had been put into making them. pretty much all of it is double stitched and it looked like the breathers could suck in alot of air in the summer to cool the hands. the only disappointment is that it fells a bit rough inside the glove and some stuff digs in after a while, but for $60-$70 (forgot the price), their a damn site better than what i was wearing.

i know theres a whole thread on this so ill be brief, this is my favorite thing out of everything, it doesn't even feel like its there when its on and its great knowing that theres extra protection on my back.


The ride...
well a couple of days ago i rode all the way from Auckland to Tauranga with the gear on and i loved every second. everything was so comfortable and after about 40kms the breathing holes in the leather start to work remarkably well. when i finally got home i just left on the pants for the rest of the day because i loved them so much.

i love my leathers/gloves/back protector and i highly rate them to whoever's thinking of getting some new gear.

Word of warning though, as i said before i was sent some 32 pants, these ones were the right length but too small in the stomach (which the 34's were perfect), also my 40 jacket was a bit long in the arms so it was near imposable to put gloves on.
no matter though, i went down to a leather tailor and she custom fitted them for me for only $140, after that they were perfect and fitted much better than any of the "off the shelf" leathers Ive ever tried on.
If your tall and long (or skinny) none of this should be a problem.

But don't let that change your mind their well worth it and even after the fitting they were still cheaper than anything on the market

I purchased a full set of quasimoto gears a couple of weeks back and have been impressed so far, particularly due to the fact that you can't buy leathers this cheap in stores. They have obviously had a lot of thought put into the design, particularly the pants which are really comfortable,( I can wear them round home but thats really normal).
The internal liner in the jacket seems a little budget but its removable. I particularly like how I can zip the pants into the jacket, both of which breathe well.
The gloves were $80 and any comparable ones in stores were $130 so can't complain there.
Overall the double kevlar stiching seems pretty durable and I have noticed that the leather is quite thick (also heavy) compared to even some expensive leathers. At any rate they have improved my confidence as a new rider all for about half the price of retail. All going well I won't have to find out how good they really are.

Anyone binned in these leathers yet? I'd like to know how they hold up, as someone told me that they could see some concessions to making an affordable product in the area of stitching (although they still vouched for it as an extremely good value product).

I was talking to Quasi the other day and yes, a few poeple have crashed wearing them. The gear stood up great by all accounts. Send him a PM and he can probably give you a bit more infor than me. I have his gloves and they are mint.

Mind you I only did it to test the leathers.
Recon Quasi owes me money for being a crash test dummy.

Hard armour in the arse may be handy, it's still bloody sore (from the bin you devients)
