I can't help noticing that all the posters on this thread are from the North Island.
    What a horrible sounding place.
Down here everyone is courteous and sweet.
If I want to pull over and pick some flowers on a narrow stretch of road, everyone behind me is happy to stop and wait until I get back in my car and carry on.
If we hit a bird we will stop and take it to a vet if it is still alive.
If someone makes a mistake and accidentally cuts another off they will theatrically slap their head and shrug "sorry". The other driver will wave "that's OK" and everyone will carry on.
If there is a long queue of cars stopped at lights or held up due to a sports event and they see a motorbike coming up behind them (because we are always checking our rear-view mirrors down here) the whole queue will pull over to make it easier for the bike to filter.
If a vehicle is stopped on the side of the road and clearly broken down, or even if the driver is just changing the tyre, no other vehicle will go past without stopping to offer assistance. Oh what parties we have had on the side of the road while helping or lending moral support to a breakdown - especially when someone breaks out a fiddle..................!
We don't have any of them m-o-t-o-r-w-a-y things but I'm sure they will be fun when we do.

Almost right... it actually goes like this...

True though... everyone cocks up on the roads and if you get agro at them they'll just justify it to themselves.
Yes, the buggar should have been more careful, but if you're okay enough to smash their mirrors off then there probably wasn't any irreprable(sp?) harm done.
Cause and effect. They make a mistake and get on the wrong end of an irate biker. Next time out, they've got a big chip on their shoulders for bikers, and then we all suffer the bad rep... and cops start victimizing riders... and ACC levies go up... and fines... and so on, and so on...
    I say this:
STOP THE CYCLE OF VIOLENCE, PLEASE! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
Oh whatever, do what you feel...
    Keep it rubber-side down...

I've had a beer bottle thrown at me, I was lucky enough to see it coming, and was just able to duck out of the way.

I had one or two icecreams lobbed at me, and one pot of KFC coleslaw, which I was lucky enough to catch, and was kind enough to place it back in the rubbish bin. The rubbish bin was shaped exactly like the toyota from which the pot originated.

This thread just cracks me up, what people have had thrown at them!

All I've had thrown at me is beer bottles. Most have missed, but have been nailed with a half full one and drenched before too. Was not terribly impressed.

Being married to a Samoan gives me certain priviledges (I'm a white whitey). Although I do get a little pissed sometimes at peoples jokes about Samoans coz they're really not that bad (at least down here in Wellys), you had every right to go round the block pick up a brick and throw it back at them! It's customary to return the gesture.

I've had run ins with PI's, Maoris, Chinese, damn near about all kinda people and there's one constant - I managed to piss them all off. The good thing about having a Samoan family is that 7.5 times outa 10 they're on your side.

    As Micheal and Paul said;
"Ebony and Ivory, live together in perfect harmony..."
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
