Lightbulb FXR vs RGV 150 battle

    Hey all,

I saw these two bikes and thought they would be nice for a first bike

    2001 Suzuki RGV150
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/a...sp?id=15922289

    or

    2001 suzuki FXR 150
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/a...sp?id=16522042

Which would you buy and why?

If there are anyother bikes around the same price mark (I can go up to 4G's but i dont really want a loan ) and in auckland can you tell me pretty please?

Well 4 grand can get you pretty much anything excluding an Aprillia RS125 or 250 or a Cagiva Mito 125.....

Out of those two i would go for the FXR.... if it was an RG150 it might be different.....

Still i would go with a VTR250..... mint bikes those.....

Why do you say the FXR is better than the RGV?

FXR is a reliable water cooled 4 stroke bike with both electric and kick start. RGV150 is a air cooled 2 stroke bike, with only kick start.... Both have similar power so i would go for the FXR.

well, I have heard very good things about the ol' FXR. jrandom wheelies them like a mofo! Check his avatar. Excellent fuel consumption, abundance of spare parts...

But what do you want the bike for? You can pick up an FXR for about 2-3 grand. A lot cheaper than the 250's

Wouldn't a RG have a fair bit more power than the FXR?

Yep, know waht you are talking about. I did extensive research on the FXR when I wanted one, but now I am lookin more at the 250's.

They are nice bikes, and i would still like one, but teh 250's have lured me!

The Rg150 has just about double the HP.... But the RGV150 is different and has similar HP

Just like which one is faster, the GSX600 or the GSX-R600....
