Aren't you being prejudice yourself, calling Takapuna kids rich and spoiled? And I hardly call Jutland Road a wealthy street.

There's nothing wrong with being rich. Hell we could all use some more cash. Knocking weathly people is very much a kiwi trait - tall poppy syndrome.

You will find punk ass teenagers everywhere in Auckland. It's got nothing to do with being rich or spoiled. However, I know what you mean. If I were to generalise, I'd call people from Takapuna and surrounding areas westies with money.

got interviewed through the phone for filing police report. Didn't even have time to come and show that burglary is a crime.
I had to literally beg them (Avondale) to send someone just to get closure.
A few days later one police constable came. It did gave us a sense of closure and put back the peaceful feeling into our home.

Just saying, Dy, that if the burglars know crime scene does not even get visited, then what's stopping them from doing more of these things?

Not that I'm slagging the police. I appreciate their time sending someone very much. But clearly, there is something definitely wrong with this country's law and order. Maybe it is time for another Guy Fawkes.

WINJA, is totally correct. Working for the MOJ I see these types of situations often. Retaliation (sp?) I think it is, in a roundabout kinda way. The police will probably not do anything about the obscenities that these poo heads yelled at you, but they will gladly charge you with giving a false compliant......

The reason Sectional staff dont do them anymore is simply we cant afford to have them tied up doing a burg file when other stuff is on the go (domestics, car knockers etc)...thing is though that burg squad staff are only on sometimes during the week where as Sectional staff are on 24/7 as there are 5 sections working different rosters.

It more comes down to the fact we just dont have enough staff anymore..we actually had more staff back in the 80's on section then we do today, and crime has trippled since then.

I know its not a great reason but we can only do what we can with what weve got
Cheers for explaining.....guess these days 'resoluton' for victims is all that can be done and you guys need to prioritise and whilst not taking away the suffering of those burgled, there is a lot more suffering out there that needs sorting out more urgently and proably has a bigger impact if dealt with......

    Can anyone clarify?

Now this just pisses me off. The PC on the front line fine, but the arseholes who prance around in their uniforms making "policy" descisions that the 300 road deaths per year (which they'll never reach untill they start TRAINING drivers (Fuck I hate that "EDUCATING" PC bullshit)) is more important than home safety just need a darn good slapping. Fcuk the polutitions, crime against persons and property is the priority, and yes I do include in that such things as drunk and dagerous driving.

It's about time police starting using the discretionary powers a bit more and used the time to investigate burgleries etc instead of giving tickets out to people driving at 111kph in perfect conditions. This has been going on for years, the public have complained and complained and nothing has changed.

This also pisses me off about speed camera. I love them, free's up a sworn PC to go and fight real crime, not sit on his arse all day writing tickets.

BTW, someone here said they got a ticket for riding in a bus lane. FFS, when are the cops going to learn the laws. How can we keep/know them when the plod can't either.

    Is that enough?

I think you coppers are a bit nancy pancy really....you've got all these compliants about the way the force is at the moment...the public are giving you shit....apparently collecting speeding tickets is a priority over doing a scene examination at marmoots house...WTF is going on....you guys hav the power to stop thgis bullshit....go on strike!!!!!

But if you asked the public to drive at the national speedlimit so the Police had more time to deal with the "real crime" they would complain even more ?....perhaps with the amount of crime in general,it might be time to get over the squeaky clean
image we try and project...Last thing i read was the prison ratio by population was one of the highest in the world at around 4th equal with Mexico ?

You said in your initial post that you are happy with who you are, then you went to pieces and started playing their game.

Ask yourself, who was in charge after that? :spudwhat:

Take back you own control, "ignore the silly little bastards" and get on with life the way "you" want it to be, not the way "they" have made you accept it.

Sorry to sound like your Nana but when you think about it, you had control of your life and you willingly gave that control to them and then went further still by volunteering to act even sillier than they did.

Take a little time over this. Cheers John.
    Well said John.
I am "Pakeha" and my wife, of 30 years, is Chinese, consequently my children are "Eurasian".
I must admit we have encountered remarkably little racism directed our way and what we have encountered has only really been in the last year or two. i.e. Was asked a while ago if I had found my wife on the internet!! Had to explain (politely) that in fact she has been in New Zealand since she was four, and that is a good fifteen years longer than I have, and actually she is a good driver as well.
We try to correct peoples ignorance when we can but we also accept that some people will spend their entire lives wallowing in their own stupidity. Being drawn into their game saps us of energy that could better spent on our own endevours....like riding my bike!

I'm married to an Indonesian, I have had the same trouble Trumpy has had and worse. I've been asked if I found her in a massage palour! Needless to say my 6'3" 108kg size came into play and someone got a shake up. Myself and my wife are respectable, contributing members of the community but at times are treated like second class humans. The last laugh will be ours when we buy their homes and evict them!

I think it is important to remember that prejudice is not just experienced by immigrants, Maori etc........the disabled have a lot more problems, especially disabled children.........I have a disabled Daughter who is 3 this month and has her very own powered wheelchair (she does great doughnuts) and the other week we went into our local PaperShop which, were it not for all the crap on the floor, would be easy for Natalie to negotiate a she wanted to chose a card. Anyway, slight mishap, no damage, I apologised and the geezer who owns the shop told me that I should leave Natalie outside.....now I am a pretty easy going guy but I politely laid into this guy about rights and all that to the extent that he did not even respond and I have never been back since and I was a regular customer......and this was in Devonport!!!!

In a nutshell he just said the wrong thing (and when it comes to Nats I am very defensive) and in this case he deserved what he got and may be more accomodating next time and I guess that we should all think before we deal/ react to a situation on the road and ask ourselves what the benefits are.....at the end of the day we will never see that fuckwit again so does it matter and it is not worth the risk of picking the wrong fuckwit or getting so wound up that we may not ride safely......PICK YOUR BATTLES...
