buuuuuuttt according to an earlier post I dont *own* an HD cos it has Buell stickers on it....
well actually technically they are mostly gone from the bike as well as a custom paintwork, sports kit and quite a bit of other stuff, so by that rationalle I should really call it a Noel at High country Motorcycles special eh? ... but I'd still class it as a Buell and also an HD cos it does have a HD motor, albeit a worked one... I simply call it a Sports HD (not a *sportster*).

So DL, does that mean you have actually riden a Hd now? Last you said was that you had sat on the back, thats not quite what i would call ridden

great! at least now you can say that, as you have ridden one...
I mean quite frankly i cant say personally one way or another what it would be like as i haven't ridden one any distance at all, mind you I could say the same about Ducs, but doesn't stop me liking them!

Just checked your profile pic, she sure is sexy. You'll have to excuse me if I steal that rear seat race number plate styling for my next black bike The little pin stripe around it, very cool... Is it painted or vinyl, and who did it?

hmmm. well I have ridden a ducati monster, it was quite nice, but not quite as good as the Buell, hense the reason i bought that instead. Would be nice to try a sports models for a comparison, always like them, but i think the cost of maintenance puts me off.

Its all painted, including the number panels...done by Noel Jackson at High Country motorcycles (fairlie), he does a brilliant job! A lot of the buells down this way that have custom paintwork, have been done by Noel.

and yup she is a sexy looking beastie

Think he'd lower himself to painting the tail on a black SV1000S?

hmmm dunno, you'd have to ask him
he does do other bikes...mostly european/american but there were some other makes there as well...
    try here for info

    http://highcountrymotorcycles.motorcycletrader.co.nz/

interestingly he has updated the pic there now, it had my bike on there for ages cos it was his own personal bike, so all his advertising had a pic of his bike on it.

shame hd didn't buy ducati when it was up for sale

the marriage of buell and ducati would have been great and lead to some amazing bikes

lots both companies have made some right blotchups

Ducati the 907 paso lots of technology but it didn't quite work

Harley the V rod a case of engineering overkill where the equation does not add up ie heavy, smaller motor than a sportster, less torque than what my 20 year evo throws out at the back wheel and to cap it off it is slower than the V max that it copied - why the v rod was not 1600cc beggars belief

on the other hand if they got it right a 996 or the like in a buell frame
