    Cop bike rear ended car?

Coming through the tunnel out of wellington tonight, a very interesting sight...

A cop bike being ridden gingerly on to a tow truck.
Then a private car with a front wheel shaped dent in the boot.

    1 + 1 = ooops.

Must have been the bloody car driver's fault, must have done something stupid like stop when he/she obviously wasn't far enough in front of the cop bike for it to avoid her. Tut tut.

Thinking back, looks like he was ok cos there were two other bikes on the scene and there were three riders.
I didn't see any scuff marks on jackets though.

Does anyone know that happens to a cop if they have an at-fault accident?

They "generally" get a ticket like anyone else... of course, there are a few "discretionary" decisions in which case "NFA" (No Further Action)....
It's been a rough day. I got up this morning, put on a shirt and a button fell off.
As I ran out the door, I picked up my briefcase, and the handle came off.
Now I'm afraid to go to the bathroom.

Now now boys, it's obvious that the car driver rammed the bike in an attempt to escape.

Dangerous? dangerous? man, I never knew you could do somebody for 'dangerous' for that sort of thing!!

Have YOU ever been charged with Dangerous Driving just for running into the rear of a car??
