The tank slap is caused by the front wheel coming up spinning at about say 20 kmh, then after you have gone through a few gears and put it back down, your poor old front wheel has to go from 20 kmh to 220+ kmh in a nano second. yeah, a dampener helps, but the main thing I found to eradicate this problem is, roll of the throttle then as the bike passes out of the balancing point, you roll the throttle on hard just before the front makes contact and the bike seems to force the wheel to catch up with out tank slapping. Great puffs of smoke will then waft through the fairing, nice!

I had a CBR250RR about 11 years ago and you can most definitely get the wheel up mate just practice, I almost flipped one around the water front one day. With a passenger you can hook second and keep it up for a we while. I also put a bigger rear sprocket on mine which helped.

The Bird likes clutch in 2nd over 'carefully chosen' hill crests, but on the flat road it is a mission because of the weight factor...i found. :spudflip:

Try taking off from standstill with fairly high revs (around 9000rpm - they redline at 19000rpm if I remember rightly) slipping the clutch as if you were going for a fast take off. As you have the clutch slipped out about 3/4 of the way and you will be doing around 30km/h slip the clutch back in again then out fully quickly and at the same time give it a good amount of throttle. Having a passenger really does help but this will work solo. Just practice mate it can be done.

Im by no means good at wheelies, but practice occasionally (i think ive only done 20-30 wheelies in total on the 600) I can change gears no worries, but usually i do it too soon and the front drops to about 2 feet off the ground where i just run out of revs.... Its all about practice.... I might do some on next friday.... but it looks like i will be practicing going fast around puke first... Trash man, your high 1:04 is going DOWN....
