    Oatmeal smell

    Hmmm...

Every motorbike I can think of that I have owned, smells like oatmeal or porridge when it is wet (from rain) and warmed up, and sometimes for a day or two after if I don't wash it.

Does anyone have any ideas? It smells real tasty, but I'm scared I shouldn't be licking my bike so have avoid this so-far.

i know what you mean! I think it's just the crap on the headers as it burns off. probably isn't all that tasty.

What gets me, is every so often I smell a bready-oaty sort of smell. No idea what it is, or where it comes from. I just smell it. I don't know if I should like it or hate it. And it seems to be at random I think. And no, it's not my arse.

Could it be a yeast infection?

I get this strong farty smell from my bike, mainly when it's in the wet with the rear-end going sideways at 11,000rpm nearly out of control .....

Ah, thanks, that's explains the deep depression in my seat.

Actually getting the ZX-10 sideways is fun as long as you realise it's long and heavy !!!

Maybe motorcycling is a good way for one to get one's oats...
