Pretty much. Although this one stupid cow passed me on the left one day. I sat there stunned as she went deep into the angle car parks on the side of the road to get past me.

These days I have a tendancy to move into the left lane if I'm on a 50/60k road where there's plenty of room on the left. And make sure my left mirror has a very good view of behind me.

When you see them moving up on the left, move over and block them. Because if they fuck up it'll be you pushed into oncoming traffic.

I'm stunned! That has never happened to me but when in suburbia I make a point of sitting in the middle-ish of the lane just to make sure...

Happened to me once in Dunstable, UK. I in rhs tyre track, road widenned out where it passed the town square, and some middle aged woman undertook me.

As Lou said, read the road more and block opportunities.

I had someone try that on me (for the first time ever...) just a month or so ago.

I was in the RH wheeltrack and turned and looked at this guy over my left shoulder, slowing a little and glaring at him at the same time. He stopped doing it but I have to admit I was prepared to pour the power on if needed...

Dunno - hell of a strange trend and keep your eyes on your mirrors...

i've had it happen on withford road in howick. 4 of those pimply gits in a subaru, who then proceeded to stop on a roundabout because they were lost and did not know where they were going.
Its all about the game and how you play it.

To Clarify : this is on a two lane road in residential areas. Full License, and usually visable given my helmet and lights, and HiVis stripes even with black bike and jacket.

I think Auckland drivers is the answer. I'm a rider so I'm not included.

In Chch I used to get passed at really odd times when driving my Series1 Landy, but it gave me good lessons in being aware of what is around you.

The right wheel mark is generally the best place given the tar snakes, reseal camber, loose materials, parked cars...

Might have to invest in some gloves with titanium stripes to provide better impact, but given the probable retaliation with a ton (or more) or metal, I'm not sure I wanna start something.

Perhaps I will just remember the reason why I ride, and expect cagers to do something stupid as part of their quota system.

Used to happen to me from time to time, and it forced me to move dead centre of my lane, but every now and then, someone would still try it on. This is in Auckland I am talking about.
