    My New Helmet

I picked up my new helmet today. A Shoei XR1000, Diabolic. The graphics are awesome. Slightly different colouring to what it looked like in the pictures, it's darker than I thought, but it's so lovely!! Very subtle things like metallic stars and lines in the black that you can only see in certain lights.

I'm really rapt. Just have to wait for a while before I get to ride in it - we're doing the Pukemanu Adventure Ride Friday/Saturday (organising that is, not riding it) then driving to Taupo first thing Sunday morning for the 600/Superbike races, back home late Sunday. Next weekend is Manfeild, but we're taking the car (much easier than lugging our bike gear around for two days), following weekend is Taupo, ditto re the car. But I'll be touring over Easter - yay!

    Slim: you'll love it.

It is definitely a cool looking lid, Lynda

I'm one of these unfortunate bastards who can not wear a Shoei comfortably. Or anything other than an Arai for that matter.

I hear you... my first helmet was a Shoei TFX, which gave me a red mark on my forehead and a bad headache if I wore it for too long. Replaced it with an Arai NR-3 and everything was sweet. My head is too long for a Shoei, I think.

I guess that you won't be looking for one of those stick on mohawks to dress it up then.
I still prefer my Jetstar open face, something about the wind in the face I guess oh yeah and the bugs, Those I have to comb outa my beard.

After begging Lynda to show me the helmet I must admit it's the coolest helmet design I've seen for ages.

I ordered mine through Hamilton Motorcycles & got them to ring the supplier today - they're apparently opening the shipment that's meant to have my helmet in it, so hopefully I'll have my hot little hands on it tomorrow!!!

Whatever Lynda, talking at lunch today seems you've got Brian worried with those graphics I think he thinks its a bit evil.
