Hi
Can anyone recommend a reliable (& cheap if they go together) source of insurance for learner riders?
Cheers

Protecta or National Auto club
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

PS. only cheapwise
I think the national auto club costs more for claims.
protector is gay. don't use them. or so i'm told.
there's plenty of insurance workers amongst us. the two that quickly spring to mind are the stunning CaN (the 'C', not the 'N', sorry Noel), and the equally awesome Cibby Chick. Hit them up with a PM and talk nice, they might give you their work number and get you a quote..
welcome to the site too![]()
look them up and give them a call dumb a@# that is who i am withOriginally Posted by MidnightMike
National Auto Club - cheapest by far - although I am an old fart. Don't know what sort of service they will provide in a claim situation tho' - never had to use that bit of it yet.
NOT State- they refuse to cover hXc at all- will have to talk to them re moving ALL our insurance somewhere else, I think.

If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
I've got mine through my bank - BNZ - full insurance for $180 a year. Not complaining.
BNZ's insurance is underwritten by IAG.

You musta been.... high. You musta been...
I thought you had to be over 100 to get premiums like that!?!?! i rang a few places and for a 23 yr old on learners about 2 months at the time on a 250 cbr was like $800 to $900 for full.Originally Posted by Deviant Esq

I have protecta, they instantly paid out even tho I crashed my bike on the open road with a learners licence and no witnesses.
I kept the bike because It cost $30 to put back on the road and was only gonna get a grand for it.
I paid around $390 for a years full insurance valued at $1650 with a $750 excess. I was only going to get it for 3rd party but it was only $90 more for full.
I'm 23, on my learners, and got quoted $180 for the NZ250-S. So I said "sure, that'll do nicely." Only just got my learners a few weeks ago as well!Originally Posted by Road Rash

National was cheaper than Protecta for me, and they lowered my premiums after the first yearOriginally Posted by MidnightMike
