    Biker down

Went on a ride with some workmates today. About 8 of us, all sorts of bikes. We thought we'd do a bit of a ride cause we always talk about the bikes and never ride together. We decided to do the back roads to Masterton and from there go to Castle point. About 10kms from Masterton to Castle Point we came to a sharp left turn and the guy in front of me, his bike just gave way and he went to ground quite hard. There was loads of gravel and looks like he hit a biggish rock in the road. This guys has done more than 160k on his bike and is a very experienced rider..just shows you, it could happen to us all.
So anyone planning on doing that road soon, watch out for the turn with a big pile of wood by it..be careful.
What pissed me off the most was, here we was trying to stabilise the guy. he was in alot of pain and no phones worked out there. We had to get guys to go back towards Masterton to try and get some reception.Because of that, help only arrived 10-15minutes later than what it could have.
Anyway, the guy has some broken bones and some other problems, but will make a good recovery.Cheers for everybody that stopped to help us!!
    Ride safe!!!

Not good mate, glad to hear your workmate will make a full recovery.
    How are you?
I know that seeing something like that happen right in front of you can rattle you quite a bit.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Sorry to hear about your mate but glad to hear he will make a good recovery. Thanks for the heads up on that part of the road.
Hope you're ok. I can throw you a bit when something happens within the bunch you are riding.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
