    Fast cycle?

What's a pretty fast bike (accel and top speed)
Cause if I get in the forces I'm gonna buy one (brand new) when I'm like 1/2 way through uni

    Thanks

have you ever opened a Trader Bike mag? it's full of 'em. How about a nice RS250 Aprilia?

What size bike do you want? Most modern sports bikes are quick, but of course the bigger the engine the faster the machine should move (top speed anyway). The 600cc motorcycle is an excellent allrounder I have found, generally fast acceleration and reaches above average top speeds.

There are many things to consider in relation to your question. Can you give us some more info on what your experience is and your preferences in a bike?

well I would be looking at 600+
Myself, I've had my learners for 2 months now and have ridden a Honda 200 dirt bike, GN125 and the cycle I own, FXR150

But in a few years after I got some more experince, full license and of course some money!

I would only recommend that you go from a 150cc to a 600cc+ machine if you are a competant and safe rider! Otherwise stay with the smaller bikes until you gain several more years experience...at present the new 600cc+ sportsbikes are VERY quick bikes, in several years time when you are ready to purchase one they will probably be even faster!

Definately don't go from a FXR to a 600 Supersport, you will either kill your self or bin it and write it off, think more along the lines of 400cc or 250cc, ive got to be honest and tell you that the FXR is a slow hunk of crap, but a great learning bike..... I think your wanting too much with too little experience, but mmmmmmm dreams are good , I know because im dreaming all the time about the day i get my R6 lol....

Not nesaseraly, I know that one of the forum users here went from a FXR150 to a GSX600 and now is on their second 750 and all this inside 4 yrs.
But you do need the upmost of respect for that big jump, and it would be most proberble that you would drop the bike turning it around or somthing silly like that.
    cheers DD

SV650 , seriously a much easier step than to a high strung 600 , the V twin is very easy to ride quickly.

I went from a 250 to a thou - no problems at all. You right hand controls the danger.....provided you aren't stupid - it doesn't matter what you go to next.

keep it real. don't be in a rush, there's a lot of joy in reaching different stages in Your riding and being on the right bike helps you do that. You don't need the fastest bike to go fast, and the fastest bikes are sometimes less fun because you've gone from riding being fun to it being 'serious' which is when you need to be able to draw on that experience to stay alive.
at the end of the day, do what makes you happy but just keep your head when you buy that monster.

i pretty much went from a zzr250 to my current gsxr1100(thats ownership tho) but i had also been riding for 7 years, and only reason i had the zzr250 was for teaching people to learn to ride on (3 females). But in also in that time i have clocked lots of milage up on other peoples bikes, from 50cc to 1500cc

Its all down to how much control over your left hand you got.

But Indiana_Jones i think your best bet after the fxr150 is a good 600cc, maybe not strange brand new, something a couple years old, for starters, if ya gonna in in army don't wanna big hp bike around desert road in winter dc:<. even tho that never stoped me before.
