Favour needed from someone in the lower Sth Island (Alexandra)

Right, there's a bike for sale in Alexandra that I'm interested in.

I've talked to the guys at the shop and asked a few questions. I don't think it's in a good enough condition to justify their current asking price. The K's are actually higher than they listed it as, and there's some damage that they are saying is cosmetic and will come out with a bit of elbow grease (bit dubious about that one). There may be some other stuff, but it's a bit hard to tell from the other end of the country.

Anyway, if anyone here is in the area, and could swing by and take a look at it, I'd appreciate it.

If gets a thumbs up, I'll take things further.

I'll reimburse petrol etc, and courier beers, or wine, or whatever takes your fancy, for your trouble.

PM me if you're willing/able and I'll reply wth details.

I might be back up that way within the next two weeks. In the meantime Jantar might be willing to help.

    Which bike shop is it?

    Davidson Honda - http://www.davidsonhonda.co.nz/

There's no great urgency, two weeks is fine. It's going to take me a little while to sort out things this end. If it gets sold in the meantime, that's life.

    Thanks.

They've got heaps of road bikes as well - Hondas, Ducatis the odd Harley etc.
    Not a bad selection actually.
There are two bike shops in Alex, SpeedMedic.

Oh and you think you'll have time to visit all these shops do you? Not if you're going to join me doing this http://www.frogz.co.nz/index.html and this http://www.franzjosefglacier.co.nz/fjgg.asp

Yep, that's Davidson Honda. The other one in Alexandra is Ian Day Motorcycles - good guys to deal with.

Yeah, it did kind of give the impression of being the sort of place that sells a lot of dirt bikes, and treats road bikes in the same rough and ready manner, but I might get a bargain.

I did the other one (boogie boards) a few years back. Good fun.
