Biaggi to ride for Alstare Suzuki

What an insult.......Max is whiney and full of excuses, apparently now set to ride a GSXR1000......odds are he fails!

The BBC is reporting this morning that famed Italian GP champion Max Biaggi signed a contract with Alstare Suzuki on Wednesday of this week, that he will race with the number thirty (Norick 'Yamaha Ride for Life' Abe uses Max's usual #3 in WSBK) and, most tantalizing, Biaggi will test with Corser, Kagayama and Mladin at Phillip Island.
There has been no official word from Suzuki regarding this development.

Oh yeah, this is going to make supers soooo much more interesting. With barros and bayliss there too it has all of the ex motogp vets. Can't wait for this to start.

The list of riders who have successfully made the Superbikes/Moto GP switch, in either direction, is rather short so far.

It must be hard to be a Moto GP "star" these days when one guy wins nearly all the races and he isn't even on the best bike.
It is now years since some of them have won a GP.

I don't know who has signed for Honda in Moto GP but they would perhaps have been advised to forget about winning in 2006 and bring through some new talent with a view to being competitive in 2007 when the talent playing field levels out again.

They have - relative youngsters Pedrosa and Hayden.

And yeah, hasn't WSBK (to be shown on SKY) had a huge injection of interest factor in '06.............
I would enjoy seeing whingeing Biagi's arse being kicked in WSBK - as it was in MotoGP.

MotoGP and WSBK are the only consolations of winter............

When duz superbikes start?

I dont think the gp guys will do all that well to start, and altho Biagi is a whinny fuck he is still a very talented rider so i wouldnt count him out just yet

I just wana see Nori kick some gsxr ass

Personally one of the best aspects of 2005 superbike was seeing various riders and manufactures all enjoying some success...far more exciting than the Motogp circus.

Methinks Honda is onto a winner with Padrosa, the guy is a fuckin legend! As for Biagi riding WSBK, i reacon it will be well interesting to see, bike should be on the pace, and he is an un-naturally talented mo-fo.
To sum up, please note my very non commital statements

. The only thing I will put money on, is no less than a few surprise wins in both classes.

I read somewhere that Biagi's problem has been he tries to ride everything like a 250 MotoGP and tries to set up his bikes like that.

If that is so it won't work for him in WSBK either.................

Corser, Baylis et al will enjoy dealing to the whinger.

I smiled last night, I was watching the movie "Faster" again and Mick Doohan comments that he wished he had Baiggi's book of excuses when he was riding...

Maybe Max has spent the break writing a new chapter for his book of excuses..

I'd have to agree here. I've followed both MotoGP and WSB for a few years now and WSB is right now a whole lot more interesting to watch than MotoGP. About time we saw the same sort of racing and sportsmanship in MotoGP I reckon. It's nice to see the riders yarning and joking arouns after a race in WSB instead of slapping each other with their handbags like the others do. MotoGP will always be the pinnacle in my view with awesome prototype bikes and awesome talent (Rossi rocks). But, the racing in WSB blows it away. Just my 2 cents worth...
