velcro, twine and a satilite dish....angle the satilite on the front left hand rearset....using the forward purchase and accosiated inclusive angle you now have...use the twine off the right hand mirror to the left fr panel...mounted at 45degrees other wise use a plumbbob....and the velcro will help with that

Mine's a single, mounted under the fairng nose. The M10 would be mounted front and rear. Bikes don't need twin units at the front.

For the V1 i have seen them mounted out of the center part of the yoke. With the front and rear antennas does the riders body block the radar from scanning behind the bike?? is that why some are mounted out on the handle bar??

Think this would be a good deal if it would come with all the bits to go straight onto the bike. I think if you buy else where you still have to get the extras to make it bike friendly.

Some bike's, such as the cbr1000rr have a steering dampener in the way so you have to mount it on the side. Either the clutch or brake clamps. I was PM'd and given advice to mount it on the brake side as the V1's rear antenna is on the right.

Yes you're right, the mounts will be the tricky part as each bike is different. I am waiting for a compatability chart from a certain supplier.

Quite the opposite. I used one of the screws on the side of the steering damper to attach my V1 to my CBR1000rr. Bought a car antenna bracket from Dick Smith for $9.95 that did the job spot on and positioned the detector with good view and out of my way. Couldn't ask for a better set up.
To the 23rd person to ask the same question on this site. HARD is Helmet Assisted Radar Detection. Wireless relay from detector to your helmet where it activates a blinding red LED light into your eyes. Temporarily blinds you so you have to pull over and hence you don't get caught speeding for 2 hours until your sight returns.
Someone asked how a car detector could work on a bike, since they plug into the car's ciggy lighter. It is illegal to sell a detector to non-smokers for this very reason. The Law is smart. To get around this tricky law you have to either take up smoking and die or use a house phone wire and splice one end into a live wire on the bike. Then you can simply unplug the detector from bike and plug into car in 2 seconds flat. Very handy that.
One fault I found with my V1 cost me a ticket last year. It failed to function correctly while I was out for a short bike ride and the V1 was in my car which was at home. I am lodging a warranty claim with the manufacturer.

The package I'm trying to put together would included a manufactured mount and as far as I'm aware there aren't any available that fit onto the steering dampener.

I don't think I have any up close pics to show how it fitted on my CBR1000RR. The bracket was called a Z bracket and I thinks its intended purpose was to attach large radio antennae to car bumpers/boots,bonnets etc. Can't find a clear picture to explain it. If you can zoom in on this pic it does let you see where it sits just left of the damper and it doesn't obstruct your view of the dials or any movements.
