    Brake hose replacements

About how much am I going to get hit for a new set of front brake hoses? (single hose from the master cylinder to the junction piece under the triple clamp, then two down to the wheel cylinders). Who sells braided s/s lines for road use?
My self made stainless braided, teflon lined, stainless fittinged items dont have the LTSA approved magic number so are not WOF material any more, even tho' they are orders-of-magnitude superior to the stretchy condom rubber OEM hoses that were on there before. F*cking bureaucratic bastids.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Mt Eden at one stage quoted about $100 a line for the RGV. The price differs for length and number of connections.

    Braided Lines

Alert Engineering, Gabador Pl Mt Wellington make up HEL braided lines. Just take them some samples and next day pick up your braided ones.
Little pricey at $200 for 2 seperate lines for an R1 but they are LTSA approved and come with a certificate saying this - worth it to save any WOF hassles. Can choose from about 7 colours to cover the braiding

I bought full set braided lines (2F/1R) from HEL direct in the UK. Free worldwide shipping and no tax if you live outside the EU gbp63 was about NZ$175. Turned up real quick too. Didn't get the LTSA certificate that Rodders got tho. Don't know if that'll be an issue for you.

Thanks for the link. I just had alook and the nearest they have for the GS1100 is a GS850 kit, GBP80.85 plus GBP14.15 intl shipping . GBP95 which is about $280 . Boyle Kawasaki said they can do an appoved set for "about" $300 as I didn't have exact measurements when I called in yesterday

    Pete said: "F*cking bureaucratic bastids."

I agree. These law changes are supposedly for our own protection. Fekkit. There are too many stupid laws already, to protect the morons among us. I'd rather take my chances.
