Okay, but you could always buy an indicator for whatever zooki charge, $110 rough guess, and take the fairing off when WOF time comes, you dont need fairings to get a WOF. Have a check round wreckers first for any corona fairings, it might work out cheaper than the excess, not sure if you have any sort of no claims bonus, which is all i thinking about, and plus if you make claims it can bump your premium up per year. You might want to enquire to your insurance company if it will have any effect on these, if not then go for it.

Jeez, glad to hear you're ok...shame about the bike tho...never nice to see your ride battered and grazed...
two months isn't too bad...try 9 months wait before I got all the bits back on the bike...kia ora R+S Hamilvegas...could have helped produce a wee human in that time frame...noddies.
Keep on them for updates etc...

interestingly,my wife drove to Tga and back yesterday; she got stuck behind an asian man doing 110km/h on straights, then 35-40 on corners!!!!
he was doing the heavy no-need-for-it braking you mention - git.
Hmm you know whats worse than that prick that go well bellow the speed limit on the strights then they hit the corners and off they go

See?! All the proof you need that you should never look at your speedo! The way I read it, you looked down to check your speed, looked up again and in the meantime the stoned driver had hit the anchors. Speed limits are dangerous!

Seriously though, sounds like it could have gone a whole lot worse. Glad to hear your OK and the bike is fixable.

Just last weekend I had a similar experience... Pyes Pa Rd (we were going pretty quick) row of 5-6 cars, Blackbird2 shot past and I followed (on a bend) the old lady at the front panic'd at the site of the Blackbird and jammed on the breaks just as I was pulling in to let an on-comming car through.
Grabbed the front, stood it up and up come the rear... front let go, so I had another crack...It slowed enough to turn out , missed by inches.
The guys behind said the following cars slammed the breaks and caused a whole lotta havoc.

At the time I thought..."silly old biddy" but if we were riding at legal speeds it never would have happened

Sorry old lady in the white car.

I've said it before and I'll probably have to say it again..the cow in the middle of the blind bend is theoretically perfectly safe if everyone keeps to the road code: On a two lane road there is another speed limit. The speed you can stop in the distance of clear road ahead. 1/2 the distance on an unlaned road. If you hit the cow/pothole/pothead/rental car/asian it is YOUR fault for speeding/following too close.
    Insert witticism.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

That sucks mate. Sad to see the damage to your lid and jacket. See what happens when I leave you alone for just a few days?
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
