dropping the bike at 110km/h on open road

    A sad story to tell. . .
Bren_ch and i had gone for a evening ride to akaroa on sunday. all was going good and a beautiful ride, one of those rides when everything comes together and it feels gret, now for the sad part .
as were riding back bren was in front, was about 40km away from chch. entered a 65km/h corner coming out of the corner ther was another one about 100 meters up the road. as i was coming out of the corner started accelarting up to 110km/h noticed a car a little bit in front of me, didnt think much of it, until it decided to slam its brakes on in the middle of the road with no indication or anything. seeing how close the next corner was and not wanting to take the risk of having a head-on with another car, i dropped the bike and tumbled about quite a few meters and the bike travelled about double that along the road. good news is i walked away with a graze on my hip and a bruised hand, no brocken bones, but the bike is a litte worse, wont be getting it back for atleast two months

yeah i was thinking the same thing, something to do with fools and 2 second rules...not that i can give anyone any advice at all about road safety, in fact I'm an expert in braking most laws.....

That sucks balls Jeff, but why 2 months to sort ya bike? I know a fantastic painter if ya can sort out a deal with the insurance company...

that sucks big time.. At least you walked away from it, could have been a lot worse by the sounds of it.

The car that braked, I hope they stayed stopped. Did you speak to them or get their details? Else I hope you remembered the plate

    dude...that sux!
    glad you're semi-ok tho'...

interestingly,my wife drove to Tga and back yesterday; she got stuck behind an asian man doing 110km/h on straights, then 35-40 on corners!!!!
he was doing the heavy no-need-for-it braking you mention - git.
