That sucks balls Jeff, but why 2 months to sort ya bike? I know a fantastic painter if ya can sort out a deal with the insurance company...
look. i dont know if i was in the wrong, its hard to say, as it happend just coming out of the corner.
apparntly, it going to take two months, by the time the assesor looks at it and oks repairs and then they order the parts in and start on it and some rubbish like that

That sucks, (it's not the sexy yellow one I've seen about is it? That's a fine looking bike).

Least you were wearing the right gear... dropping the bike @ 110 while wearing jeans isn't an option and you'd be forced to try and go around, into who knows what.

Appreciate the comment about the 2 sec rule, and it's a hard one to argue with the law if you hit someone from behind. Still, there can be extenuating circumstances and most cops try to listen to your story if you consider you have grounds. Interesting to get comment from our Boys in Blue on this? Very concerned that the idiots were stoned! Could be the needed extenuating circumstances?

yeah, i know wthe two second rule, was hard when coming out of a corner though.i talked to the police officer at central station and told me sympthised with me and understood where i was coming from, but , said if i had filed it, then it would be hard to prove i was in the right, if i had hit them i would have been in the wrong and cause i didnt hit them i would be in the wrong . he also said it would be hard to prove they stoned, when its my word against the driver and his two witnesses

Probably has the same problem I did when I binned in that all the parts have to come from Japan. Bloody frustrating.

yeah, didnt break a bone, got up and got on the bike and rode back to chch. nah didnt cartwheel. i was going 110km/h, saw the car and then just dropped it, the bike slid down the road on one side and i rolled about 13 times along the tarseal.bike is mostly surface damage, didnt damage the tank, frame, swingarm, forks, engine, chassis, none of it, but its gonna take ages apparntly for the assesor and ordering the faring from japan and that sort of stuff, well thats what the said atleast

Is it worth claiming on? You can tidy a fairing up on the cheap easy enough, and wait till you really fuck it before you claim, unless you just like having your bike mint n stuff, it's just i've seen heaps of peeps drop there bike and wait months to get it pristine again then drop it again, when they could've been riding all that time (maybe, could've binned it again in those months) cause the bike wasn't that bad in the first place, i dont mind if it still does the bizzo ya know, i'd wait till i bent the thing round a lamp post before i'd claim and then claim for all th either damage, not that i'm ever going to crash ever again, touch wood.

yeah, i would like to leave it, but, it broke the indiators and wouldn't pass a warrant with the side faring that hit the road, i only have to pay $700 excess and one of the panels is $1500 and its a cornoa edition, so might aswell get everything can done for it
