You can pretty much guarantee that someone would go the wrong way.Originally Posted by bladez

lol knowing my luck it would be me going the wrong way telling everyone that they are lol

I was on that road last Thursday - there were about 3 cars and 3 four wheel drive vehicles all over the centreline - made my cornering very interesting and hairy at times. I didn't realise there were new speed limits on that road!! Been away from Welly for 3 years! Dont remember any speed signs from the North end.
i have never noticed the speed limit but must look next time
Ridden / Driven it plenty over the last 15 years or so. Ironically I've had three near misses where it's been that close I thought we'd crash.
One was a boyracer all crossed up , had to serve off the road.
The other two were "Sunday drivers" going friggin slow that had seriously crossed the center line on blind corners.
Apart from the boy racer most of the quicker drivers / riders tend to stay in the lane when compared with "joe sightseeier" yet these people will never get trageted and will no doubt complain about the speed of others.
As a side note does anyone remember the rally of nz (Heatway Rally) special stage through this road ?.... RX3's, Fiat works cars , RS1800 -RS2000. Awesome !.
Seems a shame that the "Life Stylers" have managed to stop the motorsport that used it, eg , The annual hill climb , and recently the Targa.

Trip details here
Well I neither keep left, nor pass only with 100m clear visibility. And f*** me I'm still alive. I think it's because I use a bit of common sense and don't take risks that I consider unnecessary, giving due consideration to my bike and road conditions. That videoing thing is a bit of a worry. Mental note, place numberplate carefully on workbench before next Paekak ride.
But hey, if the cops manage to get one dipshit cage driver to not try to kill me that's a good thing in my books.
