    Arrow Exhausts and Pillions

With the latest styling fad being to have the exhaust mufflers exiting under the seat how do pillion passengers get on, surely there must be excess heat specially on a long trip, and how the heck would you survive on something like the Yam MT 01? In short is this new fad pillion friendly?
And just another thought they must be expensive to replace (the muffler, not the pillion (OK maybe both)) as not just any Joe Bloggs aftr market slip-on could be used.

Not sure I'd want to be a pillion on the new fireblade or CBR600RR for that matter, so don't think long trips will be an issue. Having seen the MT-01, Not sure I'd even want to be a rider on that thing.

But if you have to, kevlar underpants will do the trick

Bikes with under seat exhaust always cost more to buy. So will stick to std config but use a alloy exhaust - lighter & does not get so hot.

What else is there to do!!

Having been a pillion on and old GSX400 (model unknown) with a modified exhaust and getting severly burnt on a short trip I always wonder about this, looking at some of the modern bikes they really do not seem desgined for a passenger.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

My girlfriend just about lives on the back of my blade with undertail exhaust and she has never had any complaints about the exhaust heating the seat.
