Excellent, the 7 supposedly has the same reputation, so I'm looking good for years to come...
no, none of you are applying the same test to my 7 to see![]()

best one i've read about was BIKE magazine back in 1980 with a Laverda Jota, picked the Jota up from the english distributer brandspankers for a complete test, rode the bike 20miles away from the distributer it seemed to be running funny, guy stops checks it over, not one drop of oil in the motor, thinks f@%# it ride the sod back. Gets back with no dilemma they fill the bike with oil quick check & sent of to do the test. so 40miles of motorway with no oil then a quick fill & off on a test & still punches 145mph through timing lights. got the test somewhere if anyone wants a read
I've been told, that when porsche develop a new engine they keep it running at redline for 24 hours to c what breaks/wears. They keep the engine design when it can handle it. Also at certain intervals they pull engines off the production line and test them at redline for a couple of hours to ensure quality. Thats bullet proof engines!

Any modern engine can do that.Particualy diesels, thay are designed to run at max rpm on full load continuously - that's their job.Originally Posted by KLOWN
