A whole 4 days of riding!

I'll do a ride report later (brilliant time with MSTRS, yungatart, and hXc),

But here's something I stitched together yesterday on the way home.

The original file is 40MB, so this is a bit lossy, and the music sounds a bit yuk, but this should give you an idea of how gorgeous the weather was yesterday.

    Tasty.....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Looks like you're getting the hang of the new bike and nary a jitter on the footage. Have you got the new shocks on it yet and what kind of camera mount are you using?

Know what you mean about the great weather. I clocked up 780kms on Sunday with the Rotovegas crowd, and got a mild sunburn and a sore arse for my trouble

Standard suspension, so you can see how it responds to bumps(1 knacker, 2 knacker, 3 knacker 4, another big hit and there'll be children no more), the camera mount was a trusty tank bag with filming-friendly transparent map pouch.

Did 1280kms over the weekend and the Z has nearly done 3000kms in a month.

It's a Sony DSCP8, wedged into my tank bag, The roads were between Gladstone and Carterton, and the "Video Editing Software" was Microsoft Movie Maker which comes with Windows XP. Please don't laugh at me.

Ah. I've never used Movie Maker, I should give it a go on the family computer (I'm running windows 2000 on this computer). Sure it's microsoft, but at least pretty much everyone on a pc can view the files with no hassles.

Those sony cameras are good how they can record continuous movies. I tried a similar setup duct taping my old canon A40 to a box on top of the tank, but it only records 30 seconds at a time at 160x120 so was less than ideal. Plus it looked kinda silly duct taped to the tank...

I was really pleased with how it turned out. The 640x480 movie is MUCH better quality, and if I hadn't had some photos on the 128MB memory stick, I would have been able to take about 7.5 minutes of footage.

Windows Movie maker imports an MPEG as a bunch of clips, which you can then individually edit and add transition effects too. That was my first go, but it only took about an hour to chop the movie up, add the sound track, and then save as a separate mpeg, all on a Celeron 800 machine with only 256MB RAM.

It might be a bit simple, but for a knucklehead like me it was really easy to use and intuitive.

Oh go on, admit it! You had Windows Movie maker for Dummies right beside you the whole time...

You poor bastard! Well that's what happens on a trip with a bunch of queers. I hope they sent flowers afterwards.
