    Carbon Fibre Fairings

Who makes carbon firbre fairings... I've asked "just fairings" from Hamilton if he has moulds for my upper fairing. I have heaps of fibre glass at home (like heaps and heaps) but I would prefer to use carbon fibre (it looks nicer).

I think a workmate sat on my bike and dropped it while I was working, he came in to warn me it appeared to be lying on its side. When I checked it the stand had been kicked up ... WTF that doesn't just happen?! not another drop (it might have been bumped from behind). Been dropped 2 times in the last 11 years, both in my care and both within the last 3 weeks.

The upper fairing is kind of scratched up/snapped in places and it'lll need replacing/repairing. I'd like to have it made in carbon fibre if possible, so who can do carbon firbre fairings?
I wave to every biker I see.

There is really no advantage in using carbon for a fairing that isn't a structural component.
If you are just after looks, why don't you use carbon for the outer layer and glass for the rest.
Make sure you are sitting when you price the carbon

I could have got 1.4m x 12m x 3-5mm for $500 off some dodgey mate of a mate who was going to use it all for making air filter boxes.

I've worked a fair chunk over time this week, I should be able to afford it.

    Go fuck yourself.

Its a sign from god that I should have full carbon fibre fairings. Even if performance-wise it won't do much, atleast I'll have a real excuse to start crying should something like this re-occur + "yeah ... its all carbon fibre" - just soundz GREAT!

    EZAS loves the cock

and stupidly expensive why dont you use the money you would spend on carbonfibre to fix the fairing (reflections) and respray to a decent colour ie... Black or midnight blue(reflections) then get a decent exhaust on there so you can hear yourself over my bike

Now youve got a decent excuse to do it

and that still wouldnt amount to the cost of a custom made front fairing

A Your right, but no1 really seems to know how much a Carbon Fibre kits gonna cost.
B I'm thinking of painting it orange, but in June (ish) once I get back from my stone chip trip to the Sth Island.
C Your exhaust causes me to go deaf .. and that's when I'm following you, NO I'm not getting an after mark ROAR monger.
D The car broke down, there was heavy traffic, I got food poisioning and it was like that when I found it = your right .. theres no decent excuses.

Reflections are closed of the Auckland celebration period.

Fibre glass fairings cost around $1000.... From memory carbon fibre fairings cost a good $1500-$2000 so your better off painting the bike, then sticking on a nice ohlins rear shock.... thats got heaps more wank factor than carbon fibre fairings... AND it improves the performance of your bike...
See Robert Taylor for any Ohlins requirements www.northwest.co.nz

my mate could do them for you. He made them for his NSR, made them 5 or 6 sheets thick from memory so they were kinda heavy, but considering that when he crashed his fairings were sweet but his forks and tank got fucked it does say something about the strength of the stuff.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Its only the top fairing that I want done, I'll have the paint scheme blended into the Carbon fibre. Yes it is "the wank factor" but thats why ya pay an extra $2,000 to have the latest R1 in yellow instead of blue, or dump a big trumpet on a your cars blow-off valve. I'd prefer carbon fibre. But not over the whole thing. I've seen it done on a ZX12R Vs a 700hp Viper and it looks great. (I'm trying to setup an ftp server, so I can share it but the bloody thing wont work).
