Any Melbourne members going to Philip Island this weekend?

I was really looking forward to going to the Classic racing this weekend; however, when I rang up Metrolink, being all organised-like, I discovered there is no public transport to the races. Gah!

If I'd known in time I might have considered hiring a bike, but sadly my license is still in New Zealand (long story). So can I hitch a ride with anyone..?

Aww, you’re breaking my heart. Right the plan is; Penguins are migratory. Philip Island is a penguin stronghold. So all you have to do is check the penguin time table, swim out a little & (disguised as a penguin) grab hold as a bunch swim past.

Simple really. You should have known.

An aside: unbelievably, the only buses that go out are late in the day, because they assume you would only want to go there for the 'Penguin Parade..! Not only that, but unless you do an expensive 'Penguin Tour', that's you stuck there for the night... and the hotels are so dear, you'd need to sell a kidney to stay in one. Hmmm. Though I do have one spare...
