Thumbs down Oh gawd - ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

sold my oldschool Suzuki GF250 to a guy in tauranga last night. Told him to pump the tyres up (had lost air from sitting since april) and to take it easy as he hadnt really ridden bikes before.

He texts me this morning and says he's been in hospital overnight because he locked the front wheel up at 70kmh coming up behind a van

bike wasnt rego'd or wof'd yet either...

He was only wearing a helmet with t-shirt and jeans, so has grazes all over and also as a chipped pelvis so he cant walk to good.

Natural selection - you warned him, although I wouldn't let someone take it without good gear.

this is probly a bit picky, but posts #1 & #2...you probly don't really need to quote the entire original text, this early on in the thread.

I think SpeedMedic & Spank are trying to cut down this habit...

Apart from that, yeah, he had it coming. muppet.

his mate who was there had a CBR250 that he'd had for a week and i saw he had atleast a jacket aswell as a helmet. I assumed he knew what it was all about so was gonna get his mate sorted with gear. I actually told him not to ride it til he had done the change of ownership and got it wof'd and reg'd

    Question

ok tricky question here... maybe the police on here could answer it...

You sold the bike, did you get the change of ownership done?
If not who is liable the new owner or the old owner of the bike as it wasnt WOF or Rego'd... if the police where called in.

Or was it sold "as is where is condition"

Did you get a receipt for the money that passed hands...?

Gareth I'm looking out for you in this situation... and also for others who ever do this... As I would hate Gareth to be done for this and end up going to court or getting a fine.

Gee I hope this makes sense..
