Keys left in bike - Haywards

Anyone here leave a blue R1 at the bottom of the Haywards Hill (Hutt side) with the key in the ignition today ?

What did you do?

They must have been picked up from there - bike had a front disc lock on it, but key left in the ignition.

I rang the local plod to see if they could do a rego check and contact the owner to let them know.

I rang back ten minutes later and was told they couldn't make contact so I told them to tell the owner I was putting the key next to the lock (slightly hidden) - I thought this had to be safer than it sitting in the ignition.

Jimbo and I saw the guy heading North up River Road later in the afternoon, so he must have found it.

I came across a bike in Hamilton one day with the key left in,so I took it out an sat it on top of the front wheel under the guard.
Rider must of worked it out as the bike was gone an hour later.

Glad I don't have to worry about people wanting to steal my bike. I can leave it anywhere with the key in the ignition and noone will look twice at it cause its a slow old honda.

ahhh fuck ive lost my key....rings someone to bring him his spare goes to ride the bike away and the key prob fell on the ground...

Most likely, once he found his keys he probably took off with the stand still down.

LOL ive once ridden over a kilometre until i got to a left hander with enough lean to hit the stand i then heard scraping and noticed it was down ooo the intellegience LOL

i would of never found that key. if it wasntwhere i left it i would of started to retrace my steps for the day hoping i droped it
