Rashika/Shot1gun might know how much they are for an XB.
For an X1 it was around $2500 for the factory kit.
Luckily it was all done for me when i bought the bike (it was just barely 2ndhand, but with a few extras done), but i think Shot1gun has got the price about right.

The XB12 and XB9's are a compleatly different motor to the early Buells, the earlier bikes were stresed to the max with the factory kit on them at 110hp, drag bikes pushing more than that out of a 1200 motor were subject to blowen cranks.

The newer engines are rather relaxed pumping 110hp (with race kit ex Buell) the 12 is the same motor as the 9 but it has been stroked to increase the cc's that would be my pic.

Now there are several models of the 'S' Lightening they look similer but dimensions ulta so look into that, and IIRC the race kits are closer to $2-3000

I tested both Buells last year when looking for a new bike, and I have to admit that it's the first time I found myself laughing out loud during a test ride - it was that much fun, but in the end my scottish heritage came to the fore - I just couldnt see that the Buell was $5K better that a Suzi SV1000. I ended up with the SV1000S, but - take the time to test ride the naked SV1000, great motor, handling, etc and plenty of personality, and having a touch of ducks disease my self, I still found it easy to get my feet on the ground. After 10,000k's I havent regretted my decision. Must go - decked the FZR at Puke last week and a rebuild awaits!!!!!!!!!

I took an older model out for a test ride last week, an M2 Cyclone.
I loved it, heaps of torque, horses, and heaps of character. Heaps of vibration too until you get into the right rev range, that was okay but the downside was it was near impossible to ride in traffic (well until you get used to it I suppose). Stacks more grunt than the XL1200S, although based loosely on that engine (I think some of the Harley guys are starting to put Buell heads on their bikes).
It handled like a dream, and the stopping power? Silly me, pulling a stoppie on a test ride lol!
The bike was light, compared to a sporty.
Seat height is right up there, like you're sitting on top of the thing. I'm 6' and it did feel a little high at first but I soon got used to it.
Although it put a huge grin on my face I didn't go for it because it felt like it needed to be ridden hard and fast all of the time. The missus would get jealous of that. And I'd either kill myself or lose my license. Maybe I've just got no willpower.

Anyway, I reckon just take one for a ride and judge for yourself. A lot of people say "they are just sportsters that stop and go around corners" but IMHO you might as well try to compare a door handle with a suitcase for all the good it will do you.

Is it possible to make the bars higher on the XB12R with risers or anything similar?
