Idiots - what else can I say !!

It never ceases to amaze me how many idiots I see riding bikes in shorts & T shirts. I know it's been seriously hot over the weekend but it's no excuse for not wearing something which offers a bit more protection. A plague of gravel rash on you all !!

I was in Murchison (I know) and it was 39degs in my leather jacket and jeans (kevlar) the other day. If you dont move much then youre fine. When youre moving on the bike you should be fine too...

Went for a ride around the south Waikato yesterday and each time I stopped for gas I saw people riding past dressed like that.
I take libertys with my own safty but that's going a bit far I reckon.
With pegs like mine, sun burn would be a major issue as well.

You mean like this? I was playing with a new camera the other day and snapped this guy. Check out his footwear.

Saw a guy on Friday roar past work here, which is on the main road, on a GSXR600 in shorts, tshirt and jandals. probably doing 90k in a 50k.
    Traffic everywhere too.
Saw a guy about 5 mins later do a wheelie over a stop sign on a Buell.
he had all the gear on, so we'll let him off.

I tend to agree with this. I see them, think "what a dickhead", and move on.

Morons, but hey, it's their skin..
To every man upon this earth

And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

    Fucken good on 'em.

I'm off to ride to work in a bit and I think I'm gonna wear a T-shirt. Probably ride a fair percentage of the way on one wheel too.

    Get fucked, it's my choice.

    Very scarry.
I always am hot & sweaty & with i did not have to wear my gear, but don't know what is worst gravel rash or a beating from the wife. So i'm sticking to protective stuff no matter what the weather.
It's amazing how many bikes I saw when price of fuel goes up, more bikes on road, but most have no gear on.
Just hoe I don't have to pick them up.
    Very scarry.

What else is there to do!!

    Arrow As WT stated.

Its their choice, you made you the head nana mornon squad? Anal retentiveness over riding gear is fine, provided you keep it to yourself. Whats next, your going to impose what sort of bike they have to ride? I agree that its putting themselves at risk, but they have the choice to do so. If you really want to do something about it, lobby the government to make a law change. After all the law states that you only need to wear a helmet, shorts & t-shirt is acceptable. However if you succeed be prepared to be made an arse, just like those who got upset with the helmet laws. We live in a country that involves freedom of choice, great thing.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
