On a related note, I am trying to get some samples of garments that are designed for cooling people working in hot conditions....they are suitable for wearing under bike gear and should be affordable.....just waiting for samples to try out then I'll post more!

Shift does a most excellent mesh jacket for under $200. It has all the armour in all the right places too (I "road" tested one on Boxing Day)...

What a great piece of logic you got there.

Can I go give my neighbour a punch in the head because after all, there are worse things that I could have done so "minor" things should be ignored.

At the end of the day, the profile of the biker has to improve. Increasingly we aer being targetted. Recently on the news with "some guy" doing 330k/hr. Bitching about bikes on the caining it on the twisties. Having idiots running round with no gear on is just something else to bitch at.

Followed a dude over the bridge this evening - He was on a harley but shit - it looked like a mini chopper - reckon he was about 25 stone!....anyway - all the bikey leather, chaps, jacket, gloves, black helmet and all.....and a pair of open toed sandals!!! Exposing his pinkies - or in this case - brownies.....on his highway pegs.
    Looked cool...
    Fair cracked me up .

Hitcher - I label thee a hypocrite. I've seen you ride in jeans. That's not full gear. When you ass off, I'm be one of the taxpayers who picks up the bill for your new legs cos you weren't wearing full armour.

Where do you draw the line at what is acceptable? Gloves? Pants? Boots? What about back protectors? Reals ones work a shit load better than those piddly ones that come standard equipment.

So if we're all being f***ing PC today, hands up all the sensible folk who always ALWAYS ride with FULL gear? I'd be surprised if anyone here can.

Shorts and T, done it myself. Don't make a habit of it, don't practice wheelies in it either, but yep I've probably broken a few speed limits, split a few cars and ridden a few kilometres in shorts and T. What's that saying about throwing stones?

Ask anyone in a cage what they think is stupid behaviour by a bike rider and I bet ihat what the guy is wearing or not wearing doesn't even get a mention.

Well I had an accident today, low sided the bike, luckely I was wearing full gear and escaped without any injury, I'll never ride without it again.

Just a couple of rips in the pants, but I'll sew a bit of leather over the whole.

Sorry to hear it, but good you're OK. How's the bike? How did it happen? At least it didn't happen on the way home from Woodstock yesterday.

Them's called "Draggins". I've had the same pair down the road twice -- once underneath 250-odd kg of Kawasaki ZRX1200R -- with narry a mark or tear to show for it. A bit of hip armour could have been appreciated on both occasions though...

Sounds good to me .. perhaps all the do gooders should put their money where their mouths are, when they see someone riding in gear they do not aprove of... turn around, follow the person until you get a chance to lecture them on their wrong doing according to you........ I see people dressed in all manner of attire, including jeans and ankle length boots, that is their perogotive. ?...... I guess it is a case of full armoured suit or nothing.

    dresscode.............

Ok heres my 5 cent worth:
Seen last week in a Napier suburb, a geeser on an old triumph dressed "light" and in front of him he had a toddler sitting halve on the tank no helmet either.

Sunday: Another idiot: Motocrossbike, on his way to a grassy reserve, T-shirt,shorts,barefoot, No helmet, and yes, you guessed it, about a 2 year old girl in front of him dressed in a light skirt......................................
Question: Are we allowed to run them over ???????????

On a similar vein: people should only ride on bikes I approve of.

that can be next to the skin in a warm damp climate?

uh - and people who eat junkfood - is it pc here to despise people who eat junkfood? ....... or are we only permitted to despise people
