The bit that got me, was the whole comparing one particular car to a brand of cars...

4.8??? I would expect he could do better than that...
The RS2 would do that with just a lightened flywheel (380ish HP).

Never saw any upgraded 4's meself. The 6 got a bit too heavy.

    Well, I dunno.
Girlie at work's partner was taking her Sportster for a ride after an oil change (and fitting of some blingy new sidecovers) and got pinged on the NW motorway for over 140. I asked if he lost his licence and she said "No - just a hefty fine." Sounds a bit odd, unless she got the speed wrong. I thought it was a mandatory loss of licence for 140+. :spudwhat:
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yeh I've driven the RS2 - they're the ones with porsche spec on 'em. Bit older i think.
RS4 this and RS4 that - who gives a fuck about cars, but one thing , what about the RS6 BiTurbo V8 - now this fucker is one 'family car' and fucking cool to drive - how they compare with rs4....?
    Because I can...

I didnt get to drive the 6, but have done the passenger thing. Even from there you certainly notice the extra bulk. Its a BIG car.
I think i'd prefer the lighter, manual RS4 (well, RS2, if it wasn't a little old now). Though the RS6 with the sport exhaust option does sound the shiz

car lot which is in neckelsim. the rs4 standard was 390 hp but you could get
the dtm up gradet 400kw(about 490hp).its a twin kkk turbo with f1 rail
injection(forerunner of injection in new r8 lemans car).drysumped
intercooled..its power to weight is between that of the ferrari 288gto and
f40.it will get all porsches except for the new rsgt3.

most of that is greek to me but I'm sure those who queried will now be satisfied
Hmmm, Ferrari F430 = 0-100 in 4 secs, Enzo = 0-100 in 3.3 secs, Stock 911 Turbo 2005 = 4.2 secs, a normal Carrera S does 0-100 in 4.8.....so not that quick at all and it won't get all porsches especially the GT3 which does 3.9 secs 0-100.
Still it sounds like a weapon, although most decent big bikes will kick its ass in a straight line and make you look cooler.
Sounds like he was talking smack....as all car drivers do. When you race someone on the road you never know if they are getting all they can out of their car.....they could be useless, as they invariably are-thats why they drive cars

Oh well, I was going to give you my old one, cos its got 1500 on the clock, but won't if its a "pig"

and buellbabe, does your mate need a driver for a month? I can bring my own radar detector. All he'd have to do is put me up in the guest wing, and supply beer and stuff, no payment required. Ok I could probably manage to slip him a couple of hundy towards my air ticket.

I would like to know what the hard facts are on this speed ruling ... So i am on tour in the South Island (reverse say for Mainlanders) ...in the middle of nowhere cruising down a long straight at a (illegal) 141 kmh..get stopped, loose my licence ?..like i am going to leave my bike on the side of the road (broken law or not)..i would ride it to the nearest town etc risking a true criminal offence of evading the law... and then what, have my bike freighted back home.......If the decision is up to the person pulling you up,which is an unknown... hear siren, look at speedo.. !@#$... make decision to stop or keep going until somewhere safe for the bike is reached..seems a little drastic ???...... Obviously not going over the limit is the key,but........

Yes, summary roadside justice. No court, no appeal, (until much later) no chance.

Well if that is the informed answer to my question, then as a not exactly junior aged rider!!..if i was in that situation (legal or not) i described,i would not risk stopping.I do not give a flying !@#$ about car or bike, you can not simply lock a bike up and walk away,it would be gone with the first dishonest prick driving past in a van.

Well, I think yes, marginally. Not sure on its future though. I see the "new" rs4 out has biffed the turbos and gone for the n/a V8, I think it's too similar to the S4 now...

I think i'd get a little bored in both.

Hanging out for my ride in the new M5 and F430 spyder in the near future though

With WINJA as the driver/rider I think both would struggle, to be honest.

As far as i'm aware the upgraded version is MTM and that 400kw is 536hp.

The RS4 and the S4 has always been turbo'd except like you say, the last 2 models (2005 and 2006) are both V8's. The RS4 was faster than the RS6 untill they dropped the V8 in it (go figure). If i had my way they'd have a 2.6lt PP rotary in there.

The RS4 does 4.2 seconds(ish) 0-100k standard, your mates should be pulling a sub 4 second EZ AS, but yes it does understeer quite heavily. You can't say all 4wd's understeer as it depends on the front/rear ratio your running. Which is one reason people may have a preference between WRX's and EVO's. Although the mild understeer can be felt a simple ease off the accelrator and the car will correct itself immediately.

I went for a drive in a standard S4 (2.8l V6 Twin Turbo) and we got it sideways at around 130-140k in a Central City Auckland 50k zone. While I was needing a change of underware thd driver just laughed it off. The car tends to "drive itself" and isn't what I'd call "loose". Pretty boring Nana look to it as well.

If he was on a bike, why would he have stopped?
I wave to every biker I see.
