Please dont take this wrong ol son--NOW whilst its fresh in your mind--think to yourself
"did I do everything I could to avoid this accident? "
Forget whose at fault for a moment and see what YOU could have done different.

--Ohh and dude --shit I'm sorry about your bike and your knee ---very very sucky

Yeah, not good at all. Best of luck with the knee and bike. Bit of a pain with your bike.. if it's fixed then it won't be "new" anymore... so how bad was the damage?

Maybe really it was and he wanted a closer look.... I've had people pull out on me looking at me the whole time! Probably thinking "what the hell is that piece of ....?"

Bugger, sorry to hear the news.

But surely "I didn't see you" is an admission of guilt i.e. negligence and therefore careless driving.

fair enough, point taken. I approach the intersectio doing about 45 ,indicator out headlight full on slowing down, the guy is standing still at the double white lines, I am commencing my turn and the fuckwitt starts to pull away right into me and whacks the ass of the bike away under me........................
I can draw ye a picture if it helps because I would like to know how to avoid it too in future........

but maybe the cops are right: Its unavoidable, just a matter of when not if................

Bugger mate, as Hitcher said. Hopefully the old guy will lose the license and have a hefty fine.

The only thing I think you could have done (and do in the future) is to look at the driver to see if they have seen you. If they haven't, I usually slow down even more and hover the fingers over the front brake.

You can sometimes anticipate when someone is going to pull out
on you. They are often the ones frantically looking left and right in a panic and appear flustered. You can sometimes see the look of confusion on a drivers face as they are thinking who gives way to who.

    It's a jungle out there.

It's just going to get better folks, now that Hellin has canned driver testing the over 80's.

As per the original thread title...
My Mum got T-boned by a 4x4 roadwhale yesterday. They had to use a crowbar to get the front numberplate out of her cage side panel. The excuse from the tart in the roadwhale.... "I didn't see you"...
