Got back around 6. Was a good day guys...bit of a headwind for us littlies along through to Masterton. About 15 of us....good to meet a couple of new people. Fun had by all. A few big bikes headed back up over the Takas for some pillioning - hope it was a good ride Dreamer? You got the GN250 going pretty well from what I saw.
Good on ya Uncle_B for organising the ride. I think it was very appreciated (give him some +rep folks).

Cheers guys (and girls) a good day, pity I had to bail on you all early but will see you next time![]()
Yeah, good on ya Uncle B. It was a good day (apart from the wind and the traffic on the hill). Can't wait for the next one![]()
Good to see you guys got out in the end, saw ya all coming down the 'Takas on the Wairarapa side as I was heading back from the Triumph owners brunch at Lake Ferry Pub (yeah that was me , waving like an idiot!) - would have joined up but had to get home to do stuff.
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
Thanks to those who came along, a good day was had by allsorry about the delayed start and that some of you were waiting due to miss communication on my behalf...lession learnt.
Bit windy on the hill but once over the Wairarapa was warm and sunny.
Thanks to those who helped out with keeping everybody in check.
Next Newbie ride is in a months time. Will post a thread closer to the date.
Cheers everybody.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
Sorry guys - I was going to pop over and go for a hoon but only got as far as Featherston and realised that it was never going to happen cause I had to be back an hour and a half later! Sounds like you had fun though. Cameron - we saw you coming down the Kaitokes as we went up - hope you're enjoying the new bub!

Thank you everyone who was out yesterday. You were all so encouraging and I had a fantastic day. Absolutely stuffed at the end of it. Thanks for organising it, thanks for fixing my bike (battery) and thanks for the 2 up ride.
You're all awesome! See you in a month.
And Uncle B, something else I learnt, no matter how hard I try I still don't look in my mirrors often enough. Kept getting surprised when I was overtaken - scary.
Yep - big thanks to the organisers and a special thanks to my partner "BusaJim" for his patient guidance of us newbies. Nice to meet some new people and say hello to the ones we met last time.Originally Posted by Uncle B
