So here she is, my new CBR400

Well i say new, its an '88 but she has had a makeover.
I bought the bike about 6 weeks ago, it hadn't been started since March 04, the brakes were seized, it didn't start, the ignition barrel was broken so the old cowboy owner hooked up a kill box in the back and a flick switch at the front and in the process, manged to screw the bikes ignition wiring up.

I took the poor looking thing home, washed her, stripped her, shaved heg legs, fed her and gave her a bed.

so work done to get it to this point, full respray, new ignition barrel and wiring, new ignition solenoid (which got so baddly burnt it melted the fuses enough to start dripping plastic on the floor)
new mirrors, new fluids, brake seals and brake master cylinder rekitted.
New chain, second hand gear set and thats about it.

So i decided that i really want a VTR SP1, so i borrowed the paint scheme, or sort of. the painting is not finished yet but its 90% done and it has all be done by hand out of cans from place makers. the idea in donig that is because i wanted to make sure that i like the paint scheme and colours before i commit to it in 2 pac paint.

    So thanks to :

Buggy for the hours we spent on the brakes, for the garage space and tools and letting me turn up and work when ever i liked.
Pyrocam for the awesome welding work on the screen brace.
    Firefight for the battery charger.
And a huge thanks to Cibby for letting me work on the bike with out bitchin or moaning once, in fact the paint work was mostly the art creation of Cibby. So not only is she the perfect girlfriend for letting me fondle my bike almost more then i have fondeld her in the last few weeks ( i say almost, i play with Cibby more then i play with myself or anything else )
so not only that but she worked on the bike and got down and dirty and did a bloody top job on the fairings, she sanded, primered, sanded and painted and masked all the fairings for me. She had never spray painted anything before and i was a little nervous, but i had all faith and it paid off.

So hopefully it will get through a WOF and we'll be away laughing.
there are still a few things to finish, i have some new mirrors with indicators in which arrive soon, so the side indicators will be removed and the panel smoothed and the black honda wing applied to the side then the CBR decals will be place, some new rubber and the suspension needs setting up properly.

So without further ado, pics below.
I have some before pics but they are at home, so i'll have to post them later on tonight.
to give you some idea, the bike was dirty, had stupid micky mouse mirrors and was white with 2 differnt shades of blue.

Nice work team! Good on everyone involved. It is very satisfying to see a finished item all ready to go - and you know you did the work on it!
