Arrrrgh! Home improvement or new bike?

I have some money set aside in the new bike fund, which has just unexpectedly increased due to a better than expected month.

For three years I have been promising my SO that we would do our driveway "Soon".

I can use some of the money in the new bike fund and get the drive done, and buy a less expensive (but still cool as hell) bike. or I can just live with the driveway for another year.

now Ive typed it out, I think I know what I have to do.

Just think of the rights you'll have for the rest of the year.

You - Are you making the tea dear?
    The Mrs - No.
You - Don't forget the drive!
The Mrs - Chicken or Beef?

I think the keyword here is 'driveway'. Now, if it was 'stopway', the answer is obvious
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

A driveway will run you the cost of materials + a few slabs of beer for your mates to help lay it. You can have both a sweet as bike AND a driveway too, with all the blow jobs/dinners you want for a while.

    I don't see a problem.

sadly not, I have no mates.

actually its more because of the need to do some recontouring, lay a slot drain across the front of the garage, a new sump for stormwater runoff, oh, and shift a watermain. THEN we can do the easy stuff (AP40, compactor ring the guys to come lay the asphalt)

but Im talking about the differnce between a second hand ST2 and a new Buell.... so I am getting the best of both really.

Gravel + Nice flashey new bike = buggered

Get the driveway cheaply done and wait just a bit longer to get the new buell

By the way, don't get tarmac. Kickstands sink into it

    Do the drive first
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
