Question Looking for Matthew Huxtable of Gisbourne, NZ!

    Hey there!

I'm looking for a gentleman named Matthew Huxtable of Gisbourne, NZ. He made a post on another forum about a KLX250/TT600 conversion that I'd like to know about. Namely...how in the Hell do you wedge a TT600 thumper into a KLX250 frame?

Since I have one of those motors and a street titled KLX300R, it'd be really nice to know how.

Thank you for your help! My e-mail is in my profile...
    - Erik

P.S. Oh! And greetings from California!

small world...used to know him when I was a weee kid...buggared if I know how to get hold of him now...

But it would be interesting to see how you'ld get a tt600 into a klx frame...not that you'ld be gaining much unless the tt has been fettled with...
theres a company in california that specialises in klx's and they do a 380 kit for the klx300...and FCR carbs, exhuasts, head work,cams,etc... they'ld show ya how to get a heap more power out of your KLX... mind... u might hav problems with emmision laws in CA ??

Well, if you know someone who knows someone who knows him...

It's actually an SRX6 road race motor. It's got a high compression piston, cam, headwork, modified crank and rod. The SRX and TT motors from the mid-80's are the same, with the exception that the SRX has a taller 5th gear. That suits my needs pretty well.

The KLX big bore kits above 331 cc's can be, er, explosive. My current KLX has the 33 pumper carb and a fourstrokeworks header (among other things). It's a great low/mid-range trail bike. She lacks on on the top end, though!

Just exploring the options. I had tossed the idea away before I came upon his post.

Is Mathew one of Dr Huxtable's kids?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
