    what tyres/tires thread #343567684635

i'm just wanting to know what rubbers to use on my gurl..... i mean bike.

its kinda tricky cos of the bloody 18 inch rear [wheel ]
sooooooo, what tyres would be reccomended for spirited road use? and what sizes? and why do alot of bikes [including mine] have a 120,70-17 front?

umm i'm thinking bridgestone battlax bt104's might do the trick. or pirreli something softs.
    cheers

What's tricky about an 18" rear? Pop into Phil Turnbals, They'll see you right. And there should be a selection of 18" rear tyres on the self.

GPR 70 come in 18, got 010s on the rear of mine at the mo and they seem sweet, not as good at max as the gprs but have lasted longer.

Got a rennsport sticky thing on the front at the mo and thats 120 70 and goes well.

Bridgie 014's right, been a while since i've brought an 18 rear, Pirelli Sport Demons come to mind, Dunlop GPR series 70/80's come in 18's Michelin Hi Sport if you can find one, doubtful, Pleanty of old shit BT45's are common, maybe not so sticky but not bad, the ol Cyrox as well.
As fopr the front you got a shitload of options, prolly best to match up with the rear, but whatever aye, i mix n match all the time.

Not sure on 18's but the AV46ST, AV50SP, or AV60SP Vipers are all good tyres for the rear.

same here hard to afford a matching set, so just buy 2nd hand fronts and have to get new rears due to my weird 18inchs

sport demons are a good tyre, i had them on my gn250 and they were really good, i might go for them. i want something with the ability to lean lots as the bros650 has IRC protech sp10r and sp14r i think and the front is way to hard and the rear wasnt that great other than its awesome grip, t wouldnt lean to majorly and i had it worn right round before i got to the pegs. i dont feel confident mixing and matching sorry

NO no no! Sport demons and bt45's are crossplys.....
Most sport/touring tyres come in a 160/60/18 rear, you'll get a decent combo of sport front and sport/touring rear no worries.
As far as I know the gpr 70/80 series are really made for small bikes.

you really need to make sure you get something sticky, as you don't want the bros spinning up the wheel.

and a sticky tyre ain't gonna save ya when you're just too fast into a corner, and it all goes pear shaped. that's just your brain being too soft - nothing to do with the tyre
