    Dropped the ZX-10 tonight...

    But no I didn't crash it !!!

I pulled up to friends place tonight. Stopped the engine and put the sidestand down while still astride it like I normally do. As I leaned it over onto the stand I bumped the stand so it retracted. Now the ZX-10's 230kg's+ wet weight (had a nearly full tank too) kept going and with all of my strength (not huge) I laid it down trying to save the clutch lever. The mirror folded in like it's supposed to and gained some new scratches but that was all. I then picked it up (another feat of strength) to avoid further embarrassment.

I 'm going to repaint the whole machine this winter anyway I thought but what a bitch !!

Also thought, time for some fairing tang thingies (can't remember what they're called).

    yeah.

doesn't it suck when you do embarrassing stuff like that. A few weeks ago I whipped down tot eh fish and chip shop and there were heaps of people around and I did exactly what you did. My little 600 was a little easier to hold up though and I didn't let it drop but when picking it up I overbalanced it the other way and then was swinging off it going .. shit shit shit.. as I struggled to not let it hit the ground. Got away with my one. Not sure I would have on a real bike.

Nah, I'm going for an all-over blue like the ZZR-1400 colour. Make it look a little more modern, rather than the gay-80's colour scheme it has.

Now, got to go to the gym and do some bench-pressing to avoid a repeat experience.....

Phew! Had me worried with your thread title there nudemetalz! I'm glad it wasn't what the title initially had me thinking, but still, not the kind of thing you want to happen to you anyway! Just the motivation you need to make sure it gets all nicely repainted - hide the evidence!

I'm glad my bike weighs bugger all, can let it lean over whilst holding it steady with one arm, and not worry about putting it down. No doubt that confidence will bite me in the arse one day!
Soapbox house of cards and glass, so don't go tossing your stones around.
You musta been.... high. You musta been...

Oh yes,...I reckon just about everyone who's been riding for more than a few years has stationary dropped it....your time will come Dev Esq .....
However, the NZ-250 was dropped in my garage by the Missus and she never told me about it. Went to go to work one morning and "Hey, where's my brake lever gone and why is the RHS indicator hanging down?"...her response..."I was going to tell you but thought you might get mad...." so it's better to find out accidentally ay !!! Women logic !!!!!

Lol we were parking up at camp site at last C/Cruisers run and Fish rode down the wet grass to turn around instead of doing a 3 point turn pushing it...hit a hole and the ass end came round and dumped it in front of everyone, lol we were too busy laughing to help him but some dude on a Harley felt sorry for him and helped him get it back up... Lol the look on his face tho hehe
