    I agree. Mia Kirshner, however, is purrty...

    But this thread is not a Fantasy Kitchen thread, where you get to choose your 10 favourite women to cook and clean and get beer for you!

    It is about stuff with engines! And no, fembots don't count...
    `Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
    Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    In no order at all because if I won lotto I'd buy them all at once

    * 3 minibikes - for the kids
    * Indian Spirit or Scout for Strayjuliet
    * BMW F650GS Dakar for adventure touring
    * BMW R100CS
    * Gixxer 1000 streetfighter to prowl down Victoria St and laugh at the Boi Racers in their wanked out cages and annoy the Revenue Collectors by riding a blatant Ticket Magnet strictly according to the law
    * WWII BMW R75 with sidecar and machinegun (with my lotto winnings I could buy the references for the "C" licence)
    * Suzuki DR250 for commuting to work
    * relaible and economical 8-seat "people mover" - who cares what make and model, it's just a fucking cage that'll fit the whole family and the groceries
    * 1970s Mini for Strayjuliet though why she'd want one if she had the Indian I have no idea
    * Fully restored VW Kombi because, as Lias keeps pointing out, I'm just a fucking tree-hugging hippy
    Motorbike Camping for the win!

    Nah, I've gotta agree with Weasel, the GN250 is not much but they're cheap, fairly basic and economical - you going to ride 10-15 mins at 50km/h (if the traffic lets you go that fast) and sit for ages at lights to and from work 5 days a week on a 4-cyl litre bike if you've got room in the garage for a cheap "work hack"? Me, if I had the money for a fleet, I'd be fucked if I'd waste a good tourer on commuting.

    My choice of commuter would be a 250cc road-trail like the DR or a Honda XR/XL but the GN is a good commuter - it's not really designed for anything else but WTF, that's why you have the other bikes parked in the gargre.

    The GN250 belongs in the Fantasy Yet Totally Practical Garage, along with:

    1. 1985 Honda Civic - One elderly lady owner, 15,000kms, recently serviced, only used to go to the supermarket next door on Sundays

    2. 1990 Toyota Hilux - 2.0 litre diesel, no wof/rego, used only for getting around the farm.

    3. Ford Transit Van - The fastest thing on 4 wheels: no matter where you are, or what you're driving, there is always one right up your arse, waiting for a passing lane.

    4. Trusty Pushbike - 15 years old, 3 speed, low performance.

    I don't know about you, but if my garage was full of those I would NOT be a happy chappy!

    To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
    And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
    For the ashes of his fathers
    And the temples of his Gods
