3rd party insurance / no claims bonus
Up untill now I've never had insurance on either my car or my bike. I haven't crashed so it hasn't really been a problem. It'd be naive to think that i'll never crash however, so I thought i'd at least look into getting insurance.
I got a few quotes for full cover which ranged from $700 to $1100, with some having better excess policies than others. At the moment this is more than i'm prepared to pay. I never asked about 3rd party only but i'm guessing it'd be somewhat cheaper. (is this correct?)
My question however was: If I get 3rd party insurance and don't claim for a couple of years, would I be able to transfer my no claims bonus over to full insurance. Then i'd be able to get full insurance for xx% of what I can get it for now. Is there even such thing as a no claims bonus on third party insurance?
Thanks,
CFS
