    Had an accident tonight

Yep, was going for a cain around the port hills tonight was great fun was really eating up those corners.

Was trying to get a knee down around this one corner, was hanging right off the bike, but wasn't enough and I scraped a solid foot peg a bit heavily, lifted the back wheel off the ground and the bike low sided!

Luckely I was wearing full gear (never go without it if you are fond of your skin) and escaped without any injury. I was going about 70K so theres a couple of rips in the cordura pants, but I'll just sew some leather over the rips and she'll be sweet as.

I have a couple of pics, one of me doing a wheelie, one of me getting really low around the corner, and one of me crashing!

Thought it goes pretty well for a 125 single 4 stroke commuter special

I'll be cutting off the solids and welding on some fold up pegs asap, and probably removing some centre stands and rubbish like that if it stops me leaning it over lots.

Just brought a disc brake front end off trademe before as well, mint!

Only damage to the bike is a bent footpeg, scraped muffler (scraped as anyway) scraped handlebar, and snapped off two of the front mudgard mounts.

That's the way to learn. On a bike that you can drop and at speeds that aren't quite so painful. bling bling

CG's, when continuously over-revved, can drop valves,..so just watch that.
    Guess it's a consequence of not having a cam-chain !!!

Were you going up there about 8ish tonight? I was up at the 'kiwi and might have seen you coming up the hill. Bummer about the bin, but sounds like you and the bike are sweet!

Is there anyway to stop that happeneing? Cos if it did drop a valve it would fuck the motor and I'll need ANOTHER rebuild, already done two.

I'm looking at working it a bit and getting it doing 100mph, I heard it can be done, it'll only do 115 at the moment, or about 130 down hill around the southern alps.

Any tips on getting it hussing a bit faster? I heard an XL125S carby is exactly the same as an XR200 carby, put a trumpet on the intake insted of the airbox, debaffle the exhaust, do a bit of portwork and get a cam regrind.

Will I just need to put in stiffer valve springs or somthing?

Your story should have gone like this:

So I was hooning around tonight trying to get the bike sideways around corners, anyway...I managed to get the rear end stepping out quite a bit then straighten her up and carried on...check out the pics

Yeah I was up there about 8th probably I think. Was before the mist came in it was really nice and sunny.

All of the Christchurch crew need to come out for a ride sometimes, I don't want to push it too mental though until I weld on some foldup pegs though, but I'll do that fairly soon, might even do it thursday night!

Many moons ago, a guy down in ChCh made one into a Bucket-racer and harrassed us when we raced a Carrs Road. It was $%^&& fast for a CG !! My tuned CB125 Twin was only a little faster in a straight line.

He turned up his own valves (I know it was the exhaust, not sure if it was inlet too) out of stainless steel. Never had any reliability problems.
Had a tuned megaphone on it and larger carb (think they're 22mm std from memory).

Haha, if you want to spend money on that piece, then by all means do it. But at the end of the day, its still going to be a ... what the hell is it...

If you want to go fast, then buying a faster bike is usually the cheapest way, but modifying buckets can be fun.
