It was a head on hmmmmmmmmmm. Could this been another case a somebody showing off expecting a "cage" to get out of there way? Sympathy goes to the dead pillions family and most of those injured. I'll reserve judgment on the rider that collected the car when all the facts are in.

I,m with you bones but i cant help wondering why anyone would mix booze and bikes they just dont go togetherOriginally Posted by Bonez
Dam, the roads are dangerous enough
I never go on large group rides.
Here is the very reason why.
If it turns out that drink was involved then it was the rider's decision to drink - not the organisers.
I hope they don't get crucified on that basis.

From what I heard, the driver did not get the first one head-on, the biker got him head-on. Slight difference....Originally Posted by Kornholio

That's exactly how I understood it too. Why is it when a cage is involved they always seem to get the blame?Originally Posted by Virago
TV3 news was careful not to emphasise blame I thought.Originally Posted by Bonez
They said that it appeared that the biker tried a dodgy passing manoeuvre and left it at that.

He may not even have been part of the run, just attemting to get around a large group of fellow motorcyclists and fucked it up for everyone else.Originally Posted by idb
To start with I never saw the article. I only know about it from what has been posted on this thread and the hearld report.Originally Posted by Bonez
Although might be a bit of a stretch there bonez. I think it would be pretty safe to assume that he was in the group. Not withstanding that when in any group, everyone is responsible for their own actions. This is why I never spout on in a group about everyone riding at their own pace. Not my bike, not my life. Just don't take me out if you are going to do something stupid.
It would appear that this guy got over zealous and screwed it up and unfortunately took out 10 other bikers. I feel for the other bikers and the poor guy in the car.
Of course, my entire post is made of my opinion (waiting for negative rep from inlinefour) and only based on the limited information I have about the incident as I see it now.
Because most of the time they are at fault. No it was not a gang ride and a vast majority of poker runs (even the one run by gangs) have nothing to do with alchohol. Maybe you peaple should try going on a few of them.Originally Posted by Bonez
Who really cares who is at fault, a fellow biker is dead. Show some respect.
