I've done it a few times and I usually get a big lump in my throat as I am riding along. Gulp. Makes me feel damn proud to be biker! YEAH!

That'll be the flying bugs or small birds....use a visor.
Twas impressive to be sure, and good on all those who participated.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Two more m/c crashes down this way, one a head-on between H-D and rental car on a bend on the Catlins Coastal Route - no deaths, female pillion injured.

The other on the road to Haast touring couple on rental bike came around bend to find tourists in car either stopped or backing up - no deaths, female pillion serious injuries.

Thats the media perception of motorcycling from Riviera of the South for today.

Glad to hear that, no deaths at least, altho injuries still bad , better than the usual Tv reporting then.
But being curious here, why is it that the pillions always seem to come off worse? Nothing to hang on to? The accident up north was the pillion as well...

Yeah, I guess if you don't see what's coming you have NO chance - cruising along and BAM! goodnight nurse.
