Back to the Battenburg: Was there also a nice hot cup'a tea to go with the neopolitan lamington thingee? I like tea with my H.O.G rally.

But what I really want to say is: How come every HD rider looks like a clone of every other HD rider I've ever seen in my life? The ubiquitous leather chaps, leather waistcoat, gnarly beards (and that's just the women). It's like the HD rider can shell out $40k+ on the bike alone, and then aims to dress all "Dereleeect" (Zoolander) like they sleep in a dumpster. "Spent me clothing allowance on the bike mate."

But then I guess HD riders look at sportbike riders who wear the full-leather gimp suit and probably think they're all clones too, eh?

Ah, please yourselves. Each to their own.

Yup, each to their own - but just wait until I get a sprotsbike, I'll show some REAL class by continuing to wear my black leathers with tassles!

I like your observation scumdog. I think "Poser" is often shorthand for "Someone with a better bike and/or job than me", and the term exposes more about the insecurities of the person using the term, than the supposed insecurities of the alleged poser themselves.

I won't have any time for this classification of humans until someone finds genetic markers for "Poserism".

Then I realised that however 'poser' type they seemed to be their heart was in the right place - they could have been doing some other more profitable and 'politically correct' hobby but they chose this, their love (?) of all things H-D related.
Never heard 'other brands' being denigrated, never saw a fight or serious argument and met a shit load of friendly types ( even if they spoke 'proper') and some were no doubt earning 10 times or more of my income - and nobody said 'just a Sportster eh'

800+ bikes went on a 30km+ Thunder Ride, nobody was behaving like a dick, nobody fell off and the public were out big-time to wave and cheer.

    Time for another Bundy.
One of the big bosses at work was there with his wife. (Lets just say I work for one of the bigger companies in NZ) and spoke to him today about it and he said it was a good weekend and did not have to hide as only his close friends knew what he does for living which is realy nice

DB is the new Porridge. Cause most of the mods must be sucking his cock ..... Or his giving them some oral help? How else can you explain it?

Works for me too, well until one of the group blurts out something like "you cops are all the same" - THAT gets heads swiveling!!

I like the - ''I've been riding bikes all my life (4 years, weekends only),30 yrs of drugs and alcohol, and look what they've done to my body (they really do look absolutly fucked),their arms and dicks are covered in tatoos, and ''my bike is my life mate,I live to ride'' Standing next to a $30,000 bike and they haven't worked a day since they were 16.

They look down their nose at me in my dayglo dirt gear on a 2 stroke dirt bike - it's all I can afford and I've owned my own business for 10 years, working 70 hr weeks without a holiday.I've probably seen more of the lifestyle they are presenting - but I've moved on,continued to grow in my motorcycling experiance.

I hope they all get back saftely - I have a car here waiting for it's owner to get back from the HOG rally, and I want my money!
