    Media Perception Of Motorcycling

I have just watched the TV1 & TV3 News hoping to see anything about the Westpac Ride here in Auckland.

Despite that fact that we had 1200+ bikes travelling from Karaka to The AUT campus on the North Shore, NOTHING WAS SHOWN ON TV.

Edit: Apparently a short item was on TV1

The Outlaws Poker Run accident was shown though (my sympathies to the riders/pillions involved.) You could almost feel the "motorcycles are dangerous" vibes in the item.

While the public is more supportive of bikes/bikers these days, it seems that the media still can't get away from Marlon Brando in "The Wild One."

The Westpac Helicopter is ''there'' for everyone, thank f@*k motorcycles are there for '' it '' once a year. Dont see a 'cage drive' raising $$$$ for it or trucks for that matter.......the ride should at least get a 20 min slot on Close Up or Campbell Live or 20/20 etc.....just so the non two wheeled travellers of NZ can see just how much we bikers care/give to the rescue of all......so there.

Just to clarify, TV1 had a great item on the Westpac ride. However, no mention at all of the Poker Run fatality, which was the lead item on TV3.

Many transport/Truck Companies already support Westapc with large annual donations .Just done with out publicity.

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.

I stand corrected on the truck thing........ but my point is that the perception on bikers is as we all know its our fault and we are temporary citizens and all that shit.......... its not always the case.

And here I was thinking you were rebelling against White Wine.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
