If you wanna argue performance and are that worried go get a zx10/gxxr/r1/blade and stop worrying about anything else if you're that good a rider.

It's all personal preference. Decide for yourself.
You are right....followed a mate on a Firestorm and it was only when I opened my SV out that the difference was made........

I've ridden both, riding a VTR right now as the gixxer is in for a service, and the SV wins hands down. Better engine, better handling, better looking.

And it's not a Honda and therefore not gay. Like boomer and all other honda riders.

On the road there would be bugger all in it. Comparing my old vtr to the tlr i own now, the tlr would leave the vtr for dead over 200 clicks.

VTR is a very underrated bike, and would be my choice between the two.

    No cos its very wrong.................

    The TL has 120hp
    The curent SV has 108
The VTR has always had 110hp

BTW hp & ps are the same

Suzuki still seem to be claiming 86.8kw, or just over 116hp for the SV1000S.

hp and ps are similar but not quite the same [ps *0.9831 = hp]... I know, i know...
...and I don't wanna die, just want to ride my motorcy...cle (Arlo Guthrie)

    Ah well

As long as we're still debating

The VTR has a better build quality and some nice little touches. The position is def more upright. The sv is injected, the VTR is still not (as far as i know). Both bikes sound good with a decent set of pipes. The SV will have a slightly larger fuel range (i get 230-245 before i wuss out and gas up at legalish speeds).

But i forgot. The VTR was never on the menu till it was mentioned that they sucked right

yeah sorry I believe that the 05- was up'd in the hp a tad..... of course the SV is capable of more than the VTR due to its inj, but for some reason Suzuki want to keep it de tuned unlike the TL.

i work with a guy who rides a sv only mods being a set of cans and pc2,he rode my TL mods being cans, tre, remap with a yosh box,to his dismay he really noticed the difference saying the tl felt alot stronger.as far as the vtr goes great bike but if you read anything other than honda advertisments then general consensus is the tl/sv motor is definately stronger, hard to really compare the tlr with a vtr,in every suituation i can think of the tlr would waste a vtr power wise and lets not forget a vtr isnt exactly overendowed with high performance suspension, all comes back to the same old story its all about rider ability.

I still believe the VTR is the better road bike, has more grunt under 6... forgiving and easier to ride hard..

not so, at least as far as I'm aware.

but streetfightering a TLS could be cool too
